    Mel Pearson-Michigan Tech's new Coach

    The word is he's the next coach. Official statement to come likely Monday.

    During his 23 years at UofM.

    21 straight NCAA appearances.
    10 Final Fours.
    2 NCAA Championships.

    I would say Tech got it right this time.

      It's good that tech got a good coach but its still going to be hard to convince high profile players to come there considering houghton is a smallish town and the recent hockey history plus i think the male to female ratio is something like 3-1.

            Seriously though, it's understood that Pearson flew up for an interview earlier this week. If a decision truly was made this quickly, it would seem he's probably our man, though it's all still a rumor at this point.

                    Use Clarkson's strategy (their ratio is even worse): Recruit Canadian players and tell them you're close to home.

                          Probably. BSU could be there too.

                          I think MTU will be much better just by the coaching change. WMU showed us how much that can change things for a program.
