Roger Hull, former president of Union College, is running for Mayor of Schenectady, do you suppose he'll be proud to receive 40% of the vote in November?

If three or more people are running, and the total between his competitors total 60%, yet none are greater than 40%.
Is the Lake Placid weekend on there or is that one and done?
No, it's not on the schedule. The ECAC games are Sat. Dec. 10 at RPI....Sat. Jan. 14 at Union. Top of schedule has; TO BE SCHEDULED....(H) Bentley....... at Union
Brandon Pirri: Turk would give it to Jagr. That's awesome! Jagr's untouchable. And he would give it to Jagr.
Re: RPI Off-Season Thread 2011: There Will be a Title Here Next Season
I suspect that there will be a couple of changes from the schedule in the season ticket brochure, however, I doubt that there will be an LP game again.
The only way this could happen is if it is an overlay league (i.e. a fictional crown) like Ivy League hockey. There is no way the existing ECAC teams would leave to join RIT in an even less prestigious alignment. However, perhaps they would consider a scheduling arrangement with RIT for non-league ECAC games (do we really need to play Union non-league?) to award a Liberty League trophy.
One does have to wonder who comes up with some of this stuff. Short of a complete withdrawal of the Ivies from the ECAC what motivation would Colgate have to pull out in favor of the Liberty League?

I think that the whole Liberty League thing started when someone misheard "Laliberte is coming to RPI".

Cost containment, less travel, and a 1/6 shot of a sure fire NCAA bid????
It was Chris Lerch who dropped it on the Thursday night Frozen Four chat room.
Re: RPI Off-Season Thread 2011: There Will be a Title Here Next Season
I believe the rest of the ECAC members, including Colgate, like being peers with the Ivy League. Personally, I'm not interested in a small, six team league in which the members would undoubtedly play each other 4 times, nor do I think it will necessarily reduce costs significantly. The ECAC does not have a tremendous amount of travel for league play. In the grand scheme of things moderately longer bus trips for Colgate to Cambridge, Hanover and Providence instead of Canton and Troy are not the major cost drivers. Non-league travel, facilities, salaries and scholarships (which they could drop in the ECAC if they wish) are major expenses that are not inherently going to decline just by swapping leagues.
If college hockey breaks up into a bunch of 6 team fiefdoms I know this long-term fan will be far less interested in the product. I don't think I'm unique in that respect.

For what its worth... I can remember talking to one of the marketing people from Lake Placid before a game at the fieldhouse back in October when they had their booth set up promoting the event. I asked him if this event was going to happen again next year, the answer I got was "probably not" with a shoulder shrug. He also said they wanted to make it a tournament to be held around Christmas time, starting for the 2012-13 season.
A rumor ive heard was the tournament was going feature UVM, alternating CD/NC teams and one other invited school. So you would have a tournament with a field like UVM, RPI, Clarkson and ??. The following season would be UVM, Union, SLU and ??.
