Kind of confused with the Blasi bashing. Lets see. We were 1 and done in 03-04, losing to the national champ . 1 and done in 05-06, losing to runner up. 1 and done in 06-07, losing to runner up. 1-1 in 07-08 winning as a 4 seed in New Hampshire against UNH, then losing in OT to the national champ. 3-1 in 08-09, having the lead with 18 seconds left in the national champ game. 2-1 in 09-10, losing to the national champ.

Merrimack has no post season experience, problems with penalties, an average goalie, injury question marks, and they aren't coming in on the best of highs. I hope your definition of curbstomp is different than everyone elses.

You sound bitter. Is it because BC got sent packing again?

I'd be pretty surprised if that happens, it will be UNH's people running the show and we don't even get our own goal music.

Poor city planning was involved, as well; Manchester is having their St Patricks Day Parade on Elm St Sunday afternoon. The two events could not happen at the same time, so that was part of the reason for the 8pm game.
I haven't been on here in a year...

We've gone to Billy's bar the last few years to watch most of the games. There in '09 and last year. Great atmosphere, good food, decent priced Guinness.

I was just coming in here to post this. There is also a 2 mile run for any of the runners who want to participate. Complete the run (and if you're 21+) and get 2 free Harpoon beers. Link to register

It's the way Mr. Bean's team has gone about failing in the postseason.

08 Dominating a game (and nearly all of OT) except for 2 minutes
                  09 collapse of epic proportions
                  10 "THEY CAN'T SKATE WITH US!"...7-1

Granted it's not Umiliation's throwing the puck into your own net in a tie game with 10 seconds to go...

Are you confused that the only a-holes in the Miami, Merrimack, ND, UNH regional thread are BC fans?

Huh??? Perhaps there aren't many Irish people in Manchester. They DO understand that St. Patrick's Day is the 17th???? Boston had their parade the Sunday after (the 20th). Is Manchester having their 4th of July parade in August, too?

Billy's is a great sports bar, not walking distance. Not sure about the college hockey friendly part, but Murphy's is a good pub across the street from the arena. Shaskeen is a great Irish pub a few blocks north on the same side of Elm Street as the arena. In the Irish pub tradition they only have 1 or 2 televisions (used to be zero), but the only game before us on Saturday is ESPN syndication. The best beer selection is at Strange Brew Tavern which is 2 blocks west of Elm street. Cross the street from the arena, walk north a couple of blocks to City Hall and tun left. Strange Brew is on the left.
I will not be out cheered in my own building.

Not at all, why else would reading this thread be less productive then repeatedly banging your head against a brick wall

I'm interested in what people think about how much (or how little) of a factor this is. Mack is not a bunch of starry eyed newbies who've never played in big games. They may be the oldest average age team in the tournament (not sure about UND) Coach Dennehey has purposefully recruited players from winning programs who've played in big games, whether it be Juniors in Canada or Super-8 hockey in MA. They certainly didn't look like they had stage fright against UNH, and went toe-to-toe with the defending Nat'l champs in the HE championship. I'm not convinced that the "no post season experience" is any big disadvantage.

I don't get it, either; although, it did snow in Manchester yesterday. Maybe they're trying to wait until they had warmer weather (which backfired, cause it was 60 degrees the 17th). Actually, there is a pretty large Irish history in Manchester - the mills, and all that.

For folks looking for food pre/post game, I recommend:

Official UNH Gathering with the Pep Band and Gnarlz at Margaritas just up the road from the VWA. Opens at 12noon.

Keith Murphy's - good food, huge TV, and if you ask they'll prolly put on college hockey. Right across the street.

JW Hills - went in '09, they showed college hockey on ALL TVs.

Wings Your Way - A little farther up the road, but a very cool place. Kirby, the owner, is a UNH Grad so there will probably be lots going on there. Some of the best, best best Wings you'll ever have. They've won "Best in NH" for Wings 5 years in a row, and just won "Best Restaurant in NH" last year for their NorthHampton, NH location. The Manchester store is new.

Gaucho's - All you can eat Meat on Swords. Pricey, but amazing. On Lowell St, just across from the famous Red Arrow Diner. Worth a walk, esp. for breakfast.

                              See ya'll Saturday!
