I know the break games are usually harder draws but not even half full?

    2,850 x $21 = $59,850
    4,000 x $15 = $60,000 (+ more concessions sales)

I just hope they aren't trying to generate revenue with a 3rd game

Re: UNH Wildcats - 2011 Playoff Quest

Great to see Big Mac (aka - e.cat) after 40 years. He graduated from the same high school a year ahead of me. Helluva basketball player. Small world.

That had to be one of the most lop-sided 4-3 games I've seen in a while. UNH was firing on all cylinders and outshot UVM 39-28. If not for Madore's amazingly fast glove, the game would have been out of reach in the second period.

The seniors - Sislo, DeSimone, Thompson, Campanale, and Beck - left it all out on the ice in their last game at the Whittemore Center. Assuming Kessel moves on as well, his last home game was also hard-fought.

Last night, and especially tonight, the S-D-T line made a statement. They are one of the top-scoring lines in the East and they've come to the playoffs to play. If earning a trip to the Hockey East semifinals and NCAA regionals wasn't enough motivation for them, there is the added incentive of playing for their future. Recall that at the end of the playoffs last year, Bobby Butler received more than one offer to play professional hockey. His outstanding play throughout the playoffs and run at the Hobey Baker Award increased his value on the open market. An Amateur Tryout (ATO) contract is also on the horizon for the undrafted Mike Sislo and Paul Thompson. Similarly, Phil DeSimone will be looking to play for a Washington Capital affiliate (probably in the AHL) when his college season ends. They'll want to be playing at their peak during this period of maximum exposure to the professional scouts.

I think Stevie Moses has been making a statement over the last couple of months as well. He is setting himself up for a breakout scoring season in his senior year - much like Butler and Thompson did before him. The number of times he has generated shots on goal mostly through individual effort has been very impressive.

Unsung hero in the UVM series - Brett Kostolansky. He missed the Hockey East Playoffs his freshman year with a broken foot and when he returned for the NCAA Playoffs in Albany, he was a long way from 100%. Beginning on Friday night and continuing last night, he was skating and working his butt off. Whether it was controlling the puck in the defensive end or stepping up into the offensive flow, #15 came up big.

Two wins down. Another opportunity next Friday night at the TD Garden.

Another W for the Wildcats. Now is the time for everyone to bring his A game. If I check the results of UNH's last games with the remaining teams...

Not to defend the bunny, but since when do the fans pick the replacement? I disagree that Umile needs to go, but if we were in, say, Providence, or Lowell, and wanted to see the coach gone, would we need to have a "suitable replacement" in mind before starting the "Fire Army/Blaise" threads? And it's not like there's a pool of potential coaches, like in the pros (more so in sports like football or baseball). Some assistant whose name we don't know might be a terrific head coach in the making.

By very similar logic, Jerry York should have been fired after the 2001-2002 season. Defending National champs, and he helped them "not even make" the Garden, or the NCAA's!

Great to see you and your daughter at the game C-H-C. I enjoyed the conversation and who knew after all these years we would have so much in common with UNH hockey. All it took was one game at Snives and we both were hooked for life.

Also great to see Fred and Margaret, Joe and Donna at the game as well and after at the "Coaches Club" event. Thanks Fred

Great analysis of the game too C-H-C. We'll hook up again at another UNH game I'm sure.

Very entertaining game last night. Glad we got the "W" and are moving on. Make some noise in Beantown CATS!

Trivino has never been one of those players. Even outside of the rink, he'll say hi and is plenty of friendly, but has never been even close to saying or doing anything inappropriate.

You were the one who brought up McCloskey's success (he's been the coach for all of the time UNH has been in WHEA, and brought the program back after Kay was fired).
