No surprise as Lowell is picked to finish 9th in the HE Coaches Poll.

For those of you planning to go to Mankato, here's the ticket info I got from Scott Donnelly:

Their tickets go on-sale Mon, Oct. 3 for the season. They are $16/each and can be purchased online here: http://www.msumavericks.com/sports/2...30093419.aspx?. He said you’d have no problem buying at the door if you preferred (save on convenience fees, etc.). They will not sell out.

He did say that the team comp tickets will be in Section 100/200 if you wanted to sit near the families and other UML folks.

UML athletic website posted an interview with Riley Wetmore at the Hockey East media day.

Interview with all of the Hockey East coaches. Bazin starts at the 8:25 point in the video. Wetmore will be wearing the C this year.

CBS Sports Network will broadcast 8 HE games this season. The Hawks are not involved.

Interesting comment by NU's Steve Quailer about the change in the NU coaching staff.
it’s like a “breath of fresh air,” and the players aren’t being forced to be “robots” anymore.

I forgot to respond last week. I agree, a very nice event with plenty of food and drink a chance to talk to the players. The only disappointing thing was the lack of ice at the Tsongas. Hopefully things are moving along and everything will be ready for the BC game. Any updates on the progress?

No real surprises here although my rankings would be: BU, BC, UNH, Merrimack, Maine, UMA, Lowell, UVM, NU, PC.

Looking at the numbers for HE, the coaches believe it will be five teams for four home-ice spots. Big drop off after Merrimack.

Of the bottom five teams, UMA would be my dark horse to make some noise and finish better than expected. They have a lot of underrated talent and while I don't see them winning Hockey East. they are going to give some teams fits.

We could very well finish as high as sixth this year given my thoughts but that brutal start to the HE schedule undoubtably will have an negative impact and preclude that from happening.

I like both of these, as they'd definitely be a step forward for Bazin, which is great in his first year.

I just think NU dropping to last would be surprising, but we'll see. I can see Lowell anywhere from 7th (if this year is a huge step forward) all the way to 10th.

Probably should think about starting up the new season thread in the next couple of days.

Probably a silly question but do they come up with a new Center Ice Club program/flyer each season? It might be a little early because preseason is still a week away and the new coach probably has his own way of fundraising and interacting with/attracting fans. Just wondering if anyone knew because if they're keeping everything the same, I'll send the stuff in now as opposed to continuing to wait and see what this year's looks like.

Less than a week to go.

NCHC will go on without Notre Dame. I wonder if this means the (NCHC) door is completely closed for Notre Dame? I was hoping they would join the NCHC instead of HE.

Oh, goody. Now we can have all the fans who genuflect when the Notre Dame name is mentioned gather with the other 2 chosen teams' fans. Yuck.
