With two games left (others have more), JL leads the CHL in points, goals, and PPGs, http://cjhlsite.stats.pointstreak.co...&seasonid=5782. He is second in assists and SHG, tied for 4th in PPAs, and tied for 5th in GWGs.

He also has clinched the 3-star championship http://cjhlsite.stats.pointstreak.co...&seasonid=5782.

I know-often times performance at this level does not translate to results in the NCAA. But just imagine for a minute-that in this case it just might. If it does-is it ever going to get exciting in Troy.

I guess we can put to rest any thoughts of the Baer curse

My only concern is the level of competition he has had, but others from the CHL have stepped into the ECAC right away. I guess that I am also concerned that we might have to rely upon JL and Neal a lot for offense next season.

                beats relying on one
Brandon Pirri: Turk would give it to Jagr. That's awesome! Jagr's untouchable. And he would give it to Jagr.

                  It wears off after awhile.
I suspect for a year we may need to rely on a smothering stingy defense. But there is a lot of potential offense coming in with L-M-N plus the others. I think a lot will depend on how coach SA wants to integrate the new guys. He does not seem to like to throw freshmen in all that quickly-but next year he may be forced to. We don't often have freshmen at the top of the league freshmen in scoring b ut perhaps next year may be different.

                    About Cornwall's previous game http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=809032

                    From post 1018
The league MVP is and will be Laliberte this year, without him the Colts would not be near the threat, by definition - a player who means the most to his team and a player that the team would not be where they are without him. In fact while Laliberte did everything he could to try and create something last night, his linemates tried everything they could to destroy it. The Colts are a good team, but the twins may have lost their moxy, even Lalberte was disgusted with the antics at the end of one shift! The stick work, spears to the back of the legs, crosscheck after crosscheck the two would go to their bench chirp and hack at a Kings players, it actually was funny. On this night it cost them dearly, as the refs not only called them on it they made sure the twins weren't given an inch, you could not blame the refs as you could here the comments directed at the refs from the very quiet stands.
                    From post 1020
The game was not what was expected at all. Cornwall looked confused and unable to muster any sort of a sustained attack. Laliberte is definitely the heart of the team, but I agree with the earlier posts, his linemates destroyed any momentum. The team has a lot of talent and the team has their role players, why the twin-town-cryers feel the need to act like enforcers, hack, spear and work the stick is beyond me. Good to see that the refs have a low tolerance for their antics and constant back-talking.
Good thing that we didn't get the Spink twins.

On Saturday, the Gunnery Highlanders lost to the Berkshire Bears 3-1. Jake Wood had no points.

                      Wood's line is now 24-10-16-26-?

This was the final regular season game for Gunnery which ends their season with a record of 19-11-0. Im not quite sure how the playoffs work but this was posted by USHR last week:
On Sun. Feb. 27th, the NEPSIHA Tournament Committee meets, goes over the numbers, seeds the field for all three tournaments, and releases a schedule for the quarterfinals, which will all be held on Wed. March 2 at campus sites.

                      The three tournaments are:

Elite 8 - Scott Stuart/Matt Corkery Tournament (Open Tournament)
Larger School - Ken Martin/Tom Earl Tournament (Large School Tournament)
Smaller School - Larry Piatelli/Sam Simmons Tournament (Small School Tournament)
Teams will be seeded 1-8 for each quarterfinal tournament, with #8 at #1, #7 at #2, #6 at #3, and #5 and #4.

All games, as mentioned, will be played at campus sites. However, if two schools are located over two and three quarters hours apart, a neutral site approximately midway between the two schools will be chosen.

The winners of Wednesday’s quarterfinals advance to the Icenter in Salem, NH for the semifinals and finals on the weekend of March 4-6. Here is the schedule/brackets for Salem, with times subject to change.

                      Sat. March 5

                          Id imagine so.

Delbarton already earned the #1 seed in the NJSIAA private school tournament and will play their first game on March 3rd.

                            About JL http://www.ourhometown.ca/opinion/KL0005.php

Laliberte's assault on the record books doesn't surprise Colts head coach Ian MacInnis, who describes his captain as a "videotape shooter."

"What you want in a shot, he (Laliberte) does," said MacInnis, who was a prolific junior hockey goal scorer in his own right with the Cornwall Royals.

MacInnis said Laliberte is one of the best shooters he's ever seen - at any level.

"His hockey IQ is above average. His patience with the puck and ability to shoot . . . . He's right there with the best shooters in the game," the coach said.

What makes Laliberte's shot so good is the timing of his release, or lack thereof, MacInnis said.

"There's no indication he's shooting the puck. There's no indication when the release is going to happen," he said in describing Laliberte's shot. "It's a special quality. It's a real lost art. I don't know if kids work on it as much as they should."

Did we know that Babo was a lieutenant in the Army http://www.ctwhale.com/default.asp?c...=59&objId=1175 ?
Curadi’s father is a helicopter pilot in the Marines who has returned from Iraq. He was also cut from the “Miracle on Ice” 1980 U.S. Olympic team coached by Herb Brooks, a roommate of former Whalers right wing Tim Sheehy on the 1971 team. Curadi’s mother is a former First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
