Ok FS here's mine but the response is kind of discouraging so far.

    1. FSU - was number one and swept, what else do you want.
    2. Michigan- playing better and better
    3. BC- wins this week big.
    4. Mass lowell- I keep waiting for them to fade and they don't.
    5. Union- very, very good team.
    6.Minnesota- Meh
    7.Maine- lost to U mass?
    8. Duluth- might have righted the ship but I doubt it.
    9. BU- what's next- geesh.
    10. Du- I suppose, but no one deserves it from here on imho.

    Hon mention- UND

I sort of expected as much to be honest. That being said, we have until Tuesday at 1 to try to get at least a few more people to chime in on their top 10s. We made it work once when only three people (myself included) posted in here over the holidays. At this point in the season though, people really only care about the Pairwise (understandably), but I just think it is neat to be able to voice your opinion on the situation. Thank you again for being one of the constants in posting your top 10.

Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Week 19 Rankings

O.K., I'll play. Really put some thought to this.

          1. Michigan (as much as it pains me)
          2. Ferris State (might be unbeaten in the last 14, but lost badly to Michigan-twice)
          3. Boston College
          4. U Mass Lowell (not a single tie this season)
          5. Union (best record in last 10 games of any team in the top 20 of Pairwise)
          6. Maine (2nd best record in the last 10 games of any team in the top 20 of pairwise--along with BC)
          7. Miami (really up year in the CCHA for them and some others, even)
          8. Minnesota
          9. Denver
          10.UM Duluth

Lurking: Boston U (struggling down the stretch and now add controversy), North Dakota, Michigan State, Cornell (probably in that order)

The three WCHA teams bringing up the rear are almost interchangeable parts. Slight edge to the Gophers. UMD makes my list because of the been there, done that factor that I think the defending National Champion deserves.

UNO is going to have a lot to say about how and where Minnesota and Denver finish.

FS23, I don't see how you can give an honorable mention to a team (Ohio State) that has gone in the tank. 1-7-2 over their last 10 games. The worst record over that span of any team in the top 20 of Pairwise.

                  OK,

I'll put mine in here as well. FS, are you getting a good east/west mix?

Mostly by KRACH, with a few adjustments based on my 'feel' for current play:

                  1-Michigan
                  2-Ferris State
                  3-Boston College
                  4-Mass Lowell

Now, it goes yechhh!!! I don't like any choices.

5-Boston Univ (but I would much rather not even think about the recent news from there)
6-Miami only because it seems they have been rising in the PWR lately
7-Minnesota (ahead of UMD because UMD is having a tough 2nd half, and I don't trust Denver yet)
                  8-Maine
                  9-UMD

Again, I don't like anyone here:
                  Hmmm,
10-Union just so ECAC can be in the top 10.

Honorable Mention: No one really. Denver and NoDak are interesting. NoDame, Mich State, WestMich and NoMich from CCHA have all slipped a bit (which is understandable because the whole conference can't be on the top). Cornell is coming on a little. Merrimack has slipped a long way...

We always try our best to get a good east/west mix. We always make sure to get at least 1 vote from a fan/rep from each conference.

Yes, I know you do try for that. I was hoping that even these weeks you might still be able to do so. Good luck.

We should. We already have fans from 3 different conferences here. The guys at CHW are 50/50 East/West (unless you count Air Force as an "East" team due to Atlantic Hockey). We usually take what we get here, and then add in from the editors at CHW to get a good East/West split. Most of our rankings have featured 12 ballots, and we usually are about 7/5 or 6/6 West/East split. Honestly though, it depends on the week and who votes. We've had weeks with as many as 18 ballots (I want to say then it was a 10/8 West/East split).

Re: 2011-2012 NCAA Week 19 Rankings

The real rankings have warts, IMHO. Some random observations.

There is no way Ferris State should be ranked higher than Michigan since Michigan blasted them off the face of the Earth, twice, including shutting them out once. And I hate freakin' Michigan.

I don't think even UMD fan thinks that they are the #4 team in the country right now.

Miami is probably better than at least 4 of the teams ranked ahead of them.

Ohio State's presence in the top 20, at all, given their 1-7-2 record over their last 10 games, is dubious to say the least.

That Air Force is even getting so much as a single vote is laughable in the extreme. They have beaten absolutely nobody.

Merrimack, the most overrated team relative to their Pairwise ranking.

UMass Lowell, the most underrated relative to theirs.

Notre Dame's appearance at #18 is ludicrous. The 8th place team in the CCHA? They have scored 89 goals and given up 96! The only team even receiving points in the poll that has given up more goals than they have scored!

After an extremely close vote, Ferris State holds off Michigan for the Top spot in College Hockey Weekly's Power Rankings. The Bulldogs finished 1 point ahead of the Wolverines, despite having 3 more 1st place votes.
