College Hockey Weekly has posted their Midseason All-Americans. There are definitely some interesting choices.

    What are your thoughts?

Who should have made the team that didn't? Who is completely (un)deserving of the "honor"?

    Here is the link...

Very surprised to NOT see Joe Cannata on either the first or 2nd team...4th in GAA, 3rd in save % nationally...has allowed 2 goals or less in every game except one (in which the team spent 72 minutes in the box). Definitely feel like that was an oversite. Other than that, picks look good.
As everyone knows... there was a crisis, as Justin (MCHOCKEY) went AWOL 4 minutes into the first game... and thankfully he wandered his way to the meet and greet in one piece... listening to Mike (Warrior51) tell this story was *** hilarious...

The ECAC had as many first team picks as HEA and four 2nd team picks to the HEA's one.

However, no RPI picks. I guess that shouldn't have surprised me.

me too, 10 to 1 he would have been there if not for the PC weekend. That 6-1 loss hurt stats. He will be better in the end when it matters most

I agree. I voted Cannata as my top goalie out east (I was one of 8 voters). IMO, he is the reason Merrimack is where they are right now.

Was this voting done before or after trivino was thrown out of bu?

Before. I don't know for sure, but I believe they decided to take Trivino out of the list when he got kicked out of BU. I had him on my 1st Team All-East.

Ah, OK, I was wondering whether he had garnered consideration. Too bad he's also a first-team dumbbass.

I'm sure the Bad Boyz list will surface around here soon.

it is interesting that the West has the younger players, with many on the fast track to the NHL.

The reason for the talent in the west? Because MN didn't rely on Canada.

Chad Ruhwedel should be on the list for defensemen. Same number of points as Dumoulin in four less games.

I personally think Doug Carr should be considered for goalie, although his numbers are a hair lower than Cannata (1.75/1.82 - .936/.934) so I'll grudgingly accept it. For now.

Well, I don't care for Nick Bjugstad, but Kyle Rau is a player who plays the game the right way...he really should have been a Sioux.

As for Patterson, I thought he should have been the 1st Team All-WCHA Goalie last year, given the defense that he was playing with (and given the defense Dell played with). He's a good goalie, and I don't mind giving a kid accolades if they are well deserved.

Plus, I don't hate Minnesota, so it was never all that difficult to place Gophers on my list.
