You know how relevant the Pioneers are in the Denver market, they haven't been lampooned on South Park in the series 15 seasons.

That is an excellent point, haha.

How many times have DU fans thought, "I hope we can beat Tech tonight" ?..... About as many times as Denver Broncos fans have thought, "I hope we can beat the Lions on Sunday"

if every single one of us Tech fans turns into a gloating, arrogant, insufferable, mean spirited a^^hole - we deserve it!!! Go Tech!! :)

seriously, there is a special place in hockey hell for the admins of DU and UND. I don't think we will be this vitriolic with other teams. This is exactly true. I'll be an ******* to those who deserve it, I have no problem giving it other a-holes. But people and fans that I get along with and I have respect for are completely different, I will be kind and respectful to them, just as I was to the BEMIDJI (emphasis because apparently our own *****y midget is a terrible ****ing speller) fans last week.

If tech can put 7 on DU, CC is easily going to be able to hit double digits....

well, i'd say that tech scored 4, and DU+Gwoz scored 5.

of course, cc did hang a nine-spot on du last season... ;-)

Ahh, finally. I've been waiting for the "you didn't win, we lost argument". :)

I will say that I thought Gwoz gave a stand up post game assessment. I haven't cared for some of his patronism in the past, but I'll give credit where credit is due.

I expect Denver to come out strong tonight. Either Tech matches the intensity, or we'll be chasing them around and creating a parade to the box on clutch and grab penalties

Like most of the "leftover" fans I waded thru the same feelings of anger towards DU and UND. I've finally come to the place though where I'd rather let my team speak for me on the ice, like they did last night. Tech fans, we never have to like DU and UND but let's not take it out on their fans many of whom will miss the old WCHA. After all, Tech is a smaller institution with a great history that has gone thru some struggles; we're not hard for others to root for. Let's not turn anyone against us because of the way that we conduct ourselves. College hockey fans are a great fraternity; we need to stick together lest we have another UAH.

While true, it does seem that DU and to a lesser extent UND seem to be trying to tell everyone "This is good for us, it may even be good for you, deal with it." Its hard to keep up with all the posters, but I know some DU and UND fans have been very nice about it, some even said they don't like it, and I'm sure a lot are in support of the MTU and MSUM and BSUs and are keeping silent. Its the ones that come out and say, "Here, this is good for you, now eat it, love it, and ask for seconds" that are upsetting everyone. We all know the WCHA can't keep MN and UW, we also know that the NCHC can't be unformed, but we don't have to like it, and those who say "Quit crying" would not be too happy if in a parallel universe it was DU and UND being left out in the cold.

Does anyone know the status of Murray?

Most of the posts in this thread are playing into exactly what Gwoz wants. When his team sucks, he often does something outlandish to take the heat off them. Almost no one is talking about DU's performance on the ice...or even Tech's outstanding showing. Instead Gwoz gets the attention. It's all about George! :D

Does anyone know the status of Murray?Someone mentioned a skate to the head. Announcers during the game said "shoulder." Gwozdecky said he won't play tonight.

Murray didn't look good when he left the ice. it looked to me like a hand/wrist/arm/elbow. perhaps broken?

I heard possible dislocated shoulder.

Disappointed in effort last night against a very good Michigan Tech team. Expecting a higher compete level & improved execution tonight.

I'm hearing that George will start the game tonight with four forwards and two defensemen. Six skaters!:D

The sad thing is, it will probably work (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megalomania). At the cost of the players self-worth.

Good job to Tech last night, putting the whoopin' on DU. 7-2. Ouch. Maybe some kind of karma for over-scoring on Mankato last weekend.

As a DU fan, we seem to have a couple of these games per year. I usually take comfort by saying: "well, the boys learned a lesson that they need to bring their "A" game every night." But that is getting kind of old. How dumb do those kids have to be to need a wake up call to realize they aren't god's gift to hockey?

Rant over. I hope to see a better effort tonight, and I hope that Murray is OK. Go DU!

Gwoz is cool. He just sometimes loses track of where the arena exits are.

Any honest and regular DU fan knows, it is very rare for a Gwozdecky team to play like they did last night - 2 nights in a row. Denver might as well wear different jerseys because it will be a different team out there tonight. Did Hope make the Michgan trip?

I'll be glad when the "Tech caught our team off guard" line doesn't play anymore. Honestly, after last night, it has to be retired for the remainder of the season.

we'll see...i know that everyone's getting their hopes up for Tech being a huge threat this year, but don't just go and say they will be. I hope they kick *** this year, but I still know it's a long shot, and DU will be a lot better tonight then they were yesterday.

Tech fans have every reason to gloat. The Huskies took DU to the woodshed good and proper (with or without ENG's). With my propensity to find parallels between real life and movies, what last night reminded me of was Ralphie beating the snot out of Scut Farkus. And Farkus slinking away, with a bloody nose, looking around to see if anyone saw his humiliation. Well, EVERYBODY saw this humiliation! While it may be a bit premature to declare "MTU is back," it sure looks like something good is happening.
