the final score of the denver game was 4-2 after the ENG with 40 seconds left; this was the first real two goal deficit they had so far. a very nice response. has to feel like a kick in the nuts for NU. at least gaudreau didnt score the game winner!
i agree on arnold. he is a stud. doing everything well right now.
Best part of tonight though is BU lost to Holy Cross.
i'm in disbelief ...........great come back for our guys tonight. I didnt get to see it but a huge disparity in the shots..........did we control the play the way the shots suggest? and we have a superstar in the making with Arnold

the shots were very misleading. through 2 periods we led 28-18 but i would suspect that almost all 18 of NU's were better from any one of ours. I dont have access to in depth scoring analysis like grade A chances but I would suspect they were in NU's favor. BC wasn't skating hard enough to generate quality scoring chances and was just throwing the puck on net from all angles. (Granted, that is the scouting report on rawlings because he is prone to softies) but again, through 40, even 50, minutes, the offense wasnt your typical eagles offense.
up to then, NU played as sound of a game as you can expect. excellent defensively and relentless offensively, chipping pucks through the neutral zone and just driving to the net. Milner really played well, i thought, considering how lackadaiscal his team played in front of him for the most part. NU's forecheck was aggressive and constantly disrupted the breakout or stole the puck.
I have absolutely no idea what changed at the 10 minute mark of the third. I was thinking it was possible that BC was just trying to wait out the emotional push of NU (that lasted over 2 periods!) and attack in the third period. but coming out of the dressing room, shea and kreider immediately took stupid penalties and i figured we were in for more of the same. ultimately, two simple shifts changed that when almeida and dumoulin drove the net on similiar looking plays and tucked the puck past rawlings to tie the game. after that, BC opened the floodgates offensively and was all over NU (who only got 4 shots in the third) for the rest of the game. at that point it felt like only a matter of time before BC would win.
but not all is good...........Wey out up to 8 weeks with a severed tendon in his foot, says Jerry to NMBU on Boston.com
Wow, didn't see that happen in the video stream from NU. Big loss and defense will have to suck it for 2 months without him. Does that mean Mark Begert will see playing time?

Gruesome injury to think about but obviously glad it happened now rather than later. Who am I to question york, but I never understood carrying only seven dmen especially when the 7th doesn't have a ton of expectations.

you arent going to find too many D-1 caliber players who are willing to be your 8th defensemen. hopefully no one esle gets hurt along the way. i'm sure York will be utilizing his 4 forward power play and 3 forward penalty kill alot more to keep the remaining experienced defensemen fresh during games. steve whitney is about to get a much bigger role.
I'm somewhat surprised that a sliced tendon isn't season ending, like an ACL? If he comes back at close to 100% after the break I'll be happy, but as someone else mentioned, if anyone else goes down we may be in trouble. I wonder if any of our forwards have experience on D? What about Brooks Dyroff, he's got size and some playing time, I wonder if he starts practicing on defense? One other thing is that our guys typically come back on the earlier side of Jerry's predictions, so maybe he's out 4-6 weeks instead? Fortunately we have some easy games coming up, but he'll certainly be missed against Notre Dame....
