The dreaming is fine for the offseason, but when the puck drops it's time for doing. Here's to the Tigers doing some damage to the opposition this season.

It's going to be interesting. RIT has not traditionally done that great to start the season. At the same time, RIT has a ton of home games early and they have a good record there. No preview of the exhibition game for obvious reasons, but those Facebook fans will have my previews.

I am hoping for 1 or 2 more OOC wins this year and hopefully the same in conference performance

I'll be right as rain if they can take one game from Wisconsin.

Question for those familiar with the recruiting pipeline and process - RIT is now two seasons removed from the Frozen Four run. We all know what that experience has done for the fan base, national exposure, community awareness, etc. With all that, is this the first year we actually see a difference in the recruits that hit the ice for RIT? I assume there is a lag between increased awareness of the program and actually landing higher caliber recruits, but is it one, two, or three years?

I think we are already seeing it. I am basing this solely on having 5 freshman over 6 feet tall this year compared to the senior class which has 1 player over 6 feet tall. Normally it seems like we tend to get smaller players over looked by other schools. Obviously this is a truly scientific observation

Not only that but as was mentioned in the other thread, the emergence of Tanev, and a little lesser Pinner in the BC area is a bonus considering RIT recruits pretty heavily in the BCHL and AJHL.

Well It sounds like Pinner will be out of the Nuck lineup for a little while. Separated Shoulder out indefinitely. Likely 6 weeks easy.

RIt was 3rd among the "others receiving votes" in the first USCHO poll. They will be looking to continue their streak of beating at least one ranked team a year this year. A couple opponents are already ranked, and Air Force is ahead of RIT in the "others receiving votes" so perhaps they can get there as well.

Really tough break for him as he was making a pretty good name for himself. Will end up in Chicago, but hopefully will get a call up during the season.

Just a little tease but while RIT is preparing for Niagara by playing Brock, Niagara will be preparing for the game by playing Michigan.

and Brock doesn't even list playing RIT on their schedule for the year

Just an interesting observation, looking at the Brock roster all but 1 of their defensemen is over 6 foot 200 lbs. Hopefully the Tigers have speed on them

Just an FYI ... This was posted late last night on the Niagara forum (by our resident RIT fan):

BREAKING: Notre Dame and RPI to Hockey East
                            http://redskinwarriors.com/2011/09/2...o-hockey-east/

Just wanted to pass this along.......even if it's not the most "official" source in the world.

IF RPI goes to HE, it will be interesting to see what, if anything, the ECACHL does to fill that spot.
