The pumpkin beer (or Oktoberfest, for those of you that aren't a fan of pumpkin) is flowing (for those of you that are 21 *coughcough*), the air is getting colder, and PtC is back. It must be autumn!

The rules are going to remain the same as last year (http://board.uscho.com/showthread.php?91407-RPI-Pick-to-Click-2010-2011-Edition)... you are allowed to pick one player per team per night that you think will score points during a weekend series. The same player cannot be used for multiple games in the same weekend. However, in tournament settings, you will be picking one player from each team that you believe will score points over the course of that tournament. All games played (not just the ones involving RPI) will count in tournaments.

The top defenseman and forward in scoring (that's real points, not PtC points) will be ineligible to discourage everyone from choosing the same four / six players every single weekend.

The breakdown of points by position:

Goal - 2 points
Assist - 1 point

Goal - 3 points
Assist - 2 points

Goal - 10 points
Assist - 4 points
Win - 2 points
Shutout - 3 points

Please note that split shutouts will not count. A goalie must play the entire game (minus any time where the team uses an empty net) to receive credit for a shutout.

Various goalie scenarios, just for clarification's sake:
1-0 Win = 5 points
0-0 Tie = 3 points
2-1 Win = 2 points
1-1 Tie = 0 points

As a reminder, the designation of forward or defenseman will be made on a game-by-game basis depending on where said player is listed in that game's line chart.

As an extra incentive, the poster(s) that score the most points on that week's set of games will receive a bonus point.

I will do my best to provide the scores on Sunday, along with the rosters and restrictions for the upcoming week.

Link to the spreadsheet with the PtC standings [slightly bastardized version available, full version available later] (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/37925858/RPI_PtC_2011-2012_%28Standings%29.xls) No, you do not need Dropbox to download this. However, you do need Microsoft Excel / OpenOffice.org in order to open it.

RPI hosts the Acadia University Axemen in an exhibition to kick off the PtC season.

I don't know a whole lot about Acadia, so I'm going to decline to give a witty statement here.

The players that you will not be allowed to choose will be based on last year's statistics, since RPI hasn't played any games yet and the Axemen have only played exhibition games.

You may not choose the following players for this game:
F - <s>Chase Polacek</s> (Oh, he graduated? Well, OK.) Brock Higgs
D - Nick Bailen

F - Andrew Clark
D - Chris Owens

You can't chose Bailen.

Or Owens. I'm actually quite surprised by her picks, as I was going to bet the farm on her pick for RPI. :D

09-26-2011, 07:42 PM
Or Owens
Oh yea. Him, too. When I actually have my spreadsheet up and running I would have caught both of them. (Just in case people start doubting my ability to run this game.)

You can't chose Bailen.

Thanks for the heads up...edit: RPI...Beef (can I chose him?):o

On the same page where burgie12 lists the rosters of each team, he will list the ineligible players. It's the top forward and top defence player on each team by points. This will change from week to week, of course.

Acadia - Jacob Dietrich
