  • NorthEastern Huskies 2011 -Improved

Northeastern seems to added some offense (coyne, top 92 recruit) and should put up more points, Goaltending and defense improved as well.
Rosters that stay healthy will benefit down the stretch and into playoffs. Hockey East should be exciting this season.

Agree. Very nice recruiting class by Coach Flint and his assistants. There are quite a few freshman that will be counted to not only add depth but to jump right in and be impact players. It should be a fun year to watch!

Speaking of watching, NU home games are broadcast live online but in a big change, this year they are FREE to watch. Broadcasts start next Friday, September 23rd at 7pm with an exhibition against the University of Ottawa.

Suspect that that exhibition match is against the Ottawa Sens PW team, and not vs the Ottawa U Gee Gees.

Y'all probably all already knew this, but I didn't - apparently since last season the Columbus street parking lot has been open for women's games as well as men's.

Ottawa looked good in the First period , Nu was stronger up front (Faster) and the defense was not really challenged.
Broke it open in the 2nd and put in some nice goals.. Final NU 6 - Ottawa 0 . Oct 7 Syracuse and Oct 8 Colgate.

Great opening weekend for the Huntington Hounds!!! After a few years of rebuilding, Coach Flint appears to have successfully returned this team to it's championship caliber and it appears to be a top contender!!! This season should be an enjoyable one to watch once again!! Go Huskies!!!

While I agree with you, it is difficult to say much after one weekend, because fast starts have been the norm in the Flint era at NU. The Huskies started 6-1-2, 8-1-2, and 6-1-2 the last three seasons, so they don't lose much in October.
