Well, it seems that the previous thread was deleted (along with the ability to see Rep) so we begin anew.

The IIHF is presently holding a High Performance Women's Camp in Bratislavia, Slovakia with representation from 17 nations. The object is to grow and improve the game in the non-North American nations. Each country has a group of Senior players, and younger players there. Strangely there has been no announcement (that I could find anyway) from USA Hockey. So, thanks to Amanda Pelkey for the long distance message with the roster.

The following US players are in attendance:

Youngsters: Milica McMillen, Haley Skarupa, Alex Carpenter, Amanda Pelkey, Megan Miller, Courtney Burke, and Hannah Brandt

Seniors: Meghan Duggan, Julie Chu, Molly Engstrom, Jesse Vetter, Michele Picard, Kacey Bellamy, and Kelli Stack.

There was a bulletin on the HC site a while back, which included info on the program, the Canadian ambassadors and the Canadian players attending this camp/session:

You can still see your rep, but it is not as obvious as before. Here are the steps (courtesy a Brooky post from a while back):

      - Click on the "Forum Actions" drop down menu in the USCHO task bar at the top.
      - Select "General Setting" from the drop down choices.
      - Once in General setting, click on "Settings" (right beside the little house in the top left part of the page) and Voila, you get to see all the good and bad reps toward you.

Who pays for this? (Travel, meals, etc..) USA Hockey? Individual Players? Both?

I was forwarded some info and it looks like this is on the IIHF's dime.

This pretty much sums up the mission of the camp:

"The 2011 IIHF High Performance Women’s Hockey Camp promotes the vision of partnership for
progress, people coming together and learning from each other. The aim is to develop both hockey Skills
and life skills of the participants, and emphasizes “Fair Play and Respect” both on and off the ice.
          "

There are six teams at the U18 level, and six at the Senior level. Each team is comprised of players from the various nations, and the same for the coaching staff, plus a coaching mentor.

You should have taken the opportunity to revise your title. Ruggiero is on the "seasoned" side of 30 these days as well.

No they don't...at least not for the Women's "National" Team. The U30 designation came about as a joke by the players at the Women's National Festival in 2008. In actuality, the older players are the Select Team, or National team for World Championships, or Olympic team for the Olympics. The team can only be designated a National or Olympic team for the two weeks prior to, and the duration of the event.

Your talking about something totally different.. when your refering to age groups for unidentified camp/event purposes the age identifiers are the only item of measure..

Ah, no, actually I am referring to the reason why the thread title is what it is, and the derivation of U30s. So it doesn't really matter what USA Hockey calls whatever it is they are calling U40, U30 etc.

Ladies are back from Slovakia. Hear tell was a great event with many opportunities to teach, learn & share hockey goodwill. Next up for US Ladies is the August camp [Blaine, MN] & subsequent 12(?) Nations Tournament in Finland come August. Rumor has it there were 52 invitees. That is a huge group and will no doubt bring in an extensive list of new names. Roster for 12 Nations is suppose to be 21, so camp tryouts vs traveling team has significant room for change. Great to see new names & talent. Go USA.

Any news on invitees to the U18 Camp next week? USA Hockey usually posts rosters, but have not been able to find on their site.

I heard that there was going to be 1 U18 Group of about 26 players and 3 O18 groups headed out there. as for the silence? no one heard about the girls that went to Slovakia or the picks for the Warren Strelow camp "at least not until it was over. The times, they be changing!
