Thanks for the great post. I'm naturally delighted with a high pre-season ranking, although you can't put them on a credit ap. And I don't mean to be a cranky old geezer, but what does it take to put a stake through the heart of the g.d. jelly donut? How do we go about making sure everyone understands that's no longer our logo and here's the artwork for our new one? Jeez I hate that.

And a look at DU's USNTDP players for 2011-12

                      UNDER 18
Quentin Shore – Denver, Colo. — Draft Eligible in 2012
The third Shore brother to come into the NTDP, he should continue to live up to the family name. Brother Drew was a second-round pick of Florida in 2009, while other brother Nick was selected by the LA Kings in the third round in 2011.
It’s still unclear where Quentin Shore may fit into the 2012 draft, but he’s clearly got the talent to garner interest from a lot of NHL teams. You can usually expect good vision and playmaking ability from a Shore and Quentin’s no different. On top of that is the family’s trademark height.
His brothers didn’t really break out until their Under-18 seasons, so Quentin may follow suit. He has some really solid tools and could make an impact in a whole new way with this Under-18 Team. Both of his brothers are currently playing at the University of Denver,
Edit: And Quentin made his commitment to DU this August.
                      http://unitedstatesofhockey.com/2011...rds/#more-1666

                      UNDER 17
Gage Ausmus – Grand Forks, Minn. — East Grand Forks High School
At 6-1, 185, Gage Ausmus has a good frame to work with. He only played 17 games last season with EGF, but made an impact with 12 points (4g-8a). Not only did he make an impact in the points department in a short time frame, he’s better known for his defensive abilities. The U.S. U17 blueline has average size this year, so it will be important for each defenseman to bring some amount of physicality and toughness against the strong competition in the USHL.
He’s already committed to the University of Denver, which has done a pretty good job with identifying top defensive prospects over the years.
Connor Chatham – Belleville, Ill. — St. Louis Blues Midget Minor
Chatham is one of the many big bodies the U17s went after to fill out the forward lineup. The size up front allows Team USA to get away with a smaller blue line. Chatham was an early commit, but was hurt most of this season.
He’s already committed to the University of Denver, and won’t be draft eligible until 2014. He’s going to bring some grit to the lineup. Pretty good Chatham scouting report from Lets Go DU. http://letsgodu.blogspot.com/search/label/Chatham

The Pipeline show has an interview with Scott Mayfield (8/27). Starts at about the 5 minute mark.
                        From the archives:
Mike Chambers (7/23), Jason Zucker (8/6), and Sam Brittain before the news of his surgery (6/7 which I think was the actual date of the surgery)

Two conflicting rumor mills re Notre Dame's plans. The First one is from Ralph Routon in Colo. Spgs, the second is from a South Bend publication.

"Hockey rumor Notre Dame might wind up in Hockey East, with Western Michigan and St. Cloud State joining Colorado College and others in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference."

They conflict, but for context, the latter is a mere 5 days old, while the former is 7 weeks old. That precedes the NMU move, and the AHA4 meeting, and the CCHA-WCHA Chicago summit, and the offer of WCHA membership to 5 more CCHA schools, and UAF/LSSU/Ferris accepting, and BGSU dragging their feet, and WMU announcing they are no longer just waiting for ND, and the TAMU shift in all-sports that could set off dominoes affecting B10 composition...

Let's not waste time on speculation from 7 weeks ago.
