will be with the middlesex islanders who is owned by the guy who owns huskies. huskies will not be moving there as warriors would neevr approve. they also just did a huge renovation at skate 3 for huskies

will be for youth hockey expansion, not junior team

A good showing for the Warriors in today's USHL Draft:

#1 overall: Chicago Steel - Brian Christie C Topeka RoadRunners (NAHL)
Scored 57 points (20g, 37a) in 57 games in the NAHL and led the league with a plus-38 rating

#19 overall: Des Moines Buccaneers - Justin Hussar F Topeka RoadRunners (NAHL)

Another interesting note: Jimmy Vesey, former MC star Jim Vesey's son was taken by the Youngstown Phantoms at 37th overall. He is slated to head to Harvard in 2012 or 2013.

Your new goalie Rasmus Tirronen started to work out this week with a few selected goalies here in Finland as a member of Goaliepro group. Our company Goaliepro is a goalie specific training/coaching company that is focused on continuos development of modern trainign methods and techniques. Tirronen will be accompanied by NHL, KHL, Finnish and Swiss league pro's that also come and work out every summer with Goaliepro. The week of June 6th we will have our first ice camp and there will be some good photo and video coverage from that week coming to www.goaliepro.com website. We will also post regular updates on out Twitter @JukkaRopponen as well as at our FB page http://www.facebook.com/goaliepro . You should have a goalie in a very good shape after the summer when he starts his college career.

Thanks for the heads up Jukka!

Based on what you have seen from Rasmus so far, what can Merrimack expect from him when he becomes a full time starter (probably in 2012)? His numbers in the NAHL were respectable (24-9, 2.41 GAA, .908 SV %), is it safe to assume he a butterfly goalie?

                        1.) Kariya
                        2.) Gionta
                        3.) Drury

Gionta and Drury are interchangeable, but no one was better than Kariya and no one else cracks the top 3.

Brodhag will definitely be in the lineup come October. He is a great PP asset for his ability (or rather willingness) to sit in front of the net and wait for those tip ins...

Here is my thought on a starting lineup...

                                Collins-Myers-Todd
                                Flanigan-Madsen-Sheen
                                Brodhag-Mansfield-Velleca
                                Bates-Gould-Bly

                                Ellis-Stollery
                                McCarthy-Heywood
                                Wills/Kolomatis-Bigos

There is a big crop of freshman coming in and this projection leaves some good recruits out of the lineup including Connor Toomey, Kyle Singleton, and Clayton Jardine. I feel like those freshman will need to show what they can do in opening practices to take the spots of veterans like Velleca or Brodhag or second year players like Bates (drawing in defenses w/ speed) and Bly (THE anti-icing, physical on the walls) who each had their roles established last year.

I am wondering who gets the nod on the defensive side of things between Wills and Kolomatis. From what I hear Kolomatis is a shut-down type of D-man and Wills is a LH shot who can jump up into rushes and be a scoring threat.
