OK-now that the thread titile is settled-let's get back to discusing this coming weekend. Some of the ECAC teams have really very little to play for this week except some pride. I fear that may be the case with SLU and Clarkson-both of which could help us greatly against Dartmouth. But will they have enough motivation to do that especially on the road? I would hope so but I know if i was coaching teams that had nothing to gain this weekend, and do not want to incur any injuries to key players going into the all important playoffs, I might hold back with a few of the leaders on the team. I don't think that is the case with Yale/C ornell. i would expect yale wants very much to be the top seed in the playoffs and will be all out against Cornell. Of course all of this becomes moot if we annot do what we have to against Princeton and QU. All in all an exciting weekend.

Clarkson and SLU are both playing for home ice advantage in the first round, so there's definitely more than just pride on the line. I think the only teams that won't be trying for anything other than pride are Colgate and Harvard.

Has anyone going to AC booked rooms yet. Every place I have looked is like $200-$300 a night

If you can somehow finagle a government rate, the Sheraton Convention Center is $140 a night. It is one of the official tournament hotels.

I thought SLU was locked in and could not get home ice in any case-and that Clarkson was virtually a lock to get home ice and almost could not lose it. But I have not looked after this past weekend. Just brought it up for discusion.

Jenny and I are about 50 miles north of AC so we will commute for each day. The fees you quoted are pretty much standard there.

Does that include on the mainland, or are you only looking at the hotel-casinos on the island?

SLU can get home ice if Brown loses out their 3 games and they get a lot of help from the capital district (they hold the tiebreak over Q-Pac). CCT can lose it with Brown and Q-Pac kicking some srs b-hind. http://board.uscho.com/showthread.ph...-2011%29/page2

Those are island prices, stay away from the place for $70 a night in Brigantine, Tripadvisor reviews are pretty bad. All this hotel talk is gonna bring bad karma anyway

You never know when someone would want to visit for other pleasure. However, you are absolutely correct in that there are at least four games we must win first. At this point, the biggest focus is practice today. For us fans, the focus is Princeton on Friday.

Thanks Dude-I thought that there were some scenarios that would explain it. I suspect much of this will work itself out after friday's results. What I fear is that the saturday night games for Dartmouth and Cornell may not have much meaning for their respective opponents. Obviously we cannot predict that yet but late Friday night we may feel differently about those contests on Saturday.

Half of it will work out with tonight's results. Remember, Brown and Harvard play tonight.

Come to think about it, DrD... I wouldn't be surprised if Colgate and Harvard were to put forth good efforts. I know they don't have much of an effect, but maybe they would be thinking, "Do we REALLY want to face *insert team here* in the first round?! Would it be better to face *insert another team here*?"

                              That makes sense.
