  • 2011 Minnesota Offseason Thread

May as well start it now since it'll take a miracle for MN to make the NCAA's after losing tonight.

After yet another pointless and mediocre season, how empty will Mariucci be next season? How many players will be lost early this offseason? Will the coaching staff be ****canned?

Half full. Everyone who can get a contract will be gone. Maturi will sign Lucia to an extension.

Ordinarily I would be holding out hope before posting on an offseason thread in Feb.?? But touche Bak, the loss tonight basically puts the postseason seriously out of reach and officially in the toilet.

Now that the 2011 off season has started who is going to win the championship this upcoming year?
Slap Shot - 444 might want to consider a restraining order.
dggoddard - Minnesota is THE ELITE Program in all of college hockey.
wasmania - you have to be the very best to get ice time with the great gophers!

It'll take a miracle for them to reach the NCAA's now. My best guess is they will finish within 3 games of .500; they may even manage to advance to the Final Five. However, once there, I don't see them advancing to the championship under any circumstances. You can't do that as a non-top two team in this format when you can't string together a couple good games in a row. If they get there, they'll lose Friday if they are fortunate enough to win on Thursday.

Lucia has removed Wooger as a friend, and members of his staff are on their way to western Canada as we speak, looking for 25-year-old canadians.

The team gets better, but Happy goes in for psychotherapy.

                              Roman's Tweet.

Gophers have scored 72 goals, only three WCHA teams have scored fewer.
