Well, folks, I could sit here and whine about Bucky getting out of a point by the refs on Friday, but what I take away from this weekend is that as young and inexperienced as the Badgers are, they took the #1 team in the country to overtime 2 nights in a row. Thats quite an accomplishment and is something to be happy about and for the team to build on.
Hopefully it will motivate the team even more and they will shell Michigan and Michigan State next weekend.

Found out later it was just sort of a point or a wave at the bench and was trying to correct what Snipers was insinuating.
That's interesting. Our radio guys made it sound like it was more of a shouting match between Eaves and Sandelin, didn't even mention Crandall, and the TV broadcast didn't show anything. I turned it off without listening to the post game show though.

FYI- The Badgers still WANTED Crandall they just weren't going to pay for his schooling like they agree on before and he was going to have to "walk on" the team.

Crandall said no deal , which I can't blame the kid.

Hey GoBuck- I agree before this year started I was not expecting much from this team. The fact there are some games they look aweful and other games were they look like the #1 team in the nation only makes my mouth water knowing we should be good in the coming years. I hope I am wrong but I just don't think this will be our year

            One question for Mr. Crandall...

How good would you be if the #1 team in the nation wasn't in front of you, hmmm? I have NO idea what went on (only going by your posts), but the best thing for him to do is shake hands and keep his ****ing mouth shut. He, errrrrrr, UMD, just swept the Badgers. nuf said.

This weekend (and last) is evidence that the Badgers could be a very dangerous draw when March rolls around. How well the young guys learn will tell.

Eaves rescinded his scholarship offer because he played like crap in juniors, Eaves said you can walk-on, yes, but that is hardly saying "we still want you." That is saying, "we MAY take you on our team, if you can prove that you don't suck as much as we think you do."

Please. Yanking his scholarship told him everything he needed to know. They did not want him. Let's not be stupid here, kid.

The kid played for horse**it teams his entire career in the USHL. Can't blame a goalie for having a .870 save percentage when his team gives up 5 breakaways a game. When he played for Green Bay they went 13-41-6, while in Des Moines the team went 12-43-5. He just got stuck with absolutely awful teams.

Oh yeah, so that means he really should still feel wanted.

"Hey asalwaysgored, we want you to start with us in a month with our company, we will pay you 40% over what you are making now with better benefits, deal?" "Yes sir, I'll put in my one month notice now." "Hey asalwaysgored, we found someone better than you, we still want you to come in, but we are going to pay your 30% under what you are making now, that fair though right, because we really want you, can't you tell by our commitment to your pay?"

You're a jackwagon dude. You don't offer someone a scholarship and then say, oh come on in, we still want you, that's why we pulled your ride. Please, get a grip on reality.

How good is any goalie? Usually about as good as the team in front of him. You could take Elliot and put him in front of tech and he wouldn't have been half the goalie because sooner or later he would have cracked.

Right, but your fellow poster is saying that Eaves still "wanted" him and that's clearly not the case. Especially since NOW, TWO YEARS LATER, Eaves is saying it's due to off-ice issues and not on-ice sucking. If that is true then Eaves clearly DID NOT want him on the team. And even if it's not true (and I don't have any reason to believe it is, since it's not the tune he was singing before last night), I'd still say it was clear he was not wanted. Just like the Gophers and that Walters kid or whatever his name was.
