Just for the sake of nostalgia, they'll call a double minor for roughing on Bill Watson.
How do they expect us to throw hotdogs at the gophers with that [Expletive deleted] net in front of us?

That would be the asbolute minimum as far as the proper thing to do, but I have a sinking feeling they might just dig in to prove they think they were right and look to screw the Badgers even further. Is it truly right? No. The right thing would have been to call the penalty everyone including them saw. However, as someone who has officiated a ton of games in several sports, I'll tell you there is no worse feeling than knowing you just handed a team a result it didn't earn. The good ones fess up and find a way to make it up. The bad ones get almost belligerent and make it worse. We'll find out quickly which category this crew falls under.

Proper thing to do? Are you serious? This is a NCAA sports league. You don't make up for calls the next night. Somewhere in the past your squad has benefited from something like this. Would you feel the same way?

To top it off, 2 minutes earlier Mike Connolly is in a prime scoring area right in front and has his hands chopped down. So just from that alone, the non call with 10 seconds to go was status quo and evened it up. We buried it this time. Lets also talk about the 1st minute of overtime when our guy was on a breakout and gets hauled down with no call. Difference is UMD took advantage of their non call, UW wasn't able to.

If you ref in a manor of "i'll make it up to you next time" by all means please point us to who you ref for so we can let them know they have a very "unethical" ref working for them who should be removed immediatly.

I feel the non call was the right he clearly made contact with the puck before he took the other guy out which is a clean play and it reminds me of a goal last year at the DECC when our player skated into a ref (who was clearly out of position) while trying to chase down a guy on a break away so it happens so stop complaining and if you think your team deserve a tie then they need to come out tonight and take it.

Beg your pardon, but I have a feeling you are either officiating pee wee games or are a ****-poor ref or both.

                re: THE CALL.

let's forget it. Whether it was a good non-call or atrocious non-call...

                I saw one replay.

while it ****ed me off initially what stands out more is the save...or let's just say Bennett played that **** poorly and the game falls more on his lax play there than a non-call on Connolly.

I don't think the refs cost UW jack. the goalies on the other hand let in about 3 soft goals. that is the end of the story really.

Amen to that. You don't fix a bad call with another. And you sure as hell don't say a **** thing until the game is over.

I agree with this. Terrible non call, but don't give up 6 goals if you want to win (or tie).

Have to admit though that it was pretty deflating to have it end that way.

Entertaining back and forth game and refreshing to not have any (many) flying elbows this weekend.

Too many men is reviewable, as are penalties that cause injury. All other penalties are not.

But we didn't have too many men is the thing.
