Sorry to say it, but he got the penalty because Novak was injured.
If Novak gets up, nothing is likely called.

Yeah, the goalie issue is resolved...Dunn from here on- a proven winner. Blais keeps teasing us when he says that Lee will win a national championship. He knows that Lee folds under pressure.

I won't give you any heat. It's never the fault of the guy on your own team. :D

You guys are no fun. The internet sucks when everyone agrees... :D

Sweet baby heyzeus it's on now bubby ...

So ... I'll cordially invite you to provide your expert talent analysis since your clear inference here is that you "know puck".

Where is the great disparity between UAA and SCSU? Is it the 6th and 7th round draft choices? Hmmm ... Dunn ... uh ... yeah he ain't even playin. Oh I know ... Aaron Marvin (3rd round choice) ... uh ... yeah another in a long line of oversold @ 18 Minnesota High School draft choices ... if he was 3rd round draft talented wouldn't have likely spent 4 four years in college.

UAA has 4 players of the caliber of Aaron Marvin ... ferchrissakes ... watch the kid skate. The NHL scouts drooled because he was 6'3" at 18 ... that was the sum total of his potential to them. And he's lived up to that by producing nothing but physical play, hacking and injured susies. He'll be a one year AHL player that gets assigned to the ECHL and plays there until he figures out he should hang up the skates.

Who's next? Shall I find some more oversold-by-homeriffic-minnesota-scouting players to pick on? Shall we look at some junior stats for those minnesota products that you seem to think are more talented? Do some comparisons eh?

Drew Leblanc? Unimpressive junior stats followed by three average years at SCSU ... UAA has at least 2 Drew Leblancs ... How about Tony Mosey? Oh wait .. UAA's Craig Parkinson blew Mosey's numbers away in the BCHL 06-07 year. So not him. Travis Novak ... his junior numbers are less impressive than Leblanc ... um who's next? Jordy Christian? He had decent numbers one year in the B ... and a grand total of 8 goals in two years playing on one of the top teams in the WCHA? Yeah .. he's so much more talented than any UAA player. Um .. Garrett Roe? Nice player .. .good numbers when he played with Ryan Lasch. Otherwise ... I don't see anything that lots of small quick good puck handling forwards don't deliver ... UAA has a freshman of the same ilk that is every bit the match of Roe in terms of talent. Festler? Hanoski? More unproven Minnesota high school players with more hype than talent. Decent hockey players at this level to be sure ... but to put them in a class above UAA just because they don't go to UAA?

I know at some point someone in this thread would put their foot in it and dude you did it big time. So come on ... step it up now and describe all the talent SCSU has. I'm not local to your team so naturally all these guys must have something in the talent bucket that i'm missing. Tell me what it is? Let's hear it eh? Where is all this "talent" that you claim for them?

Again here you display your ignorance "about puck". Where do I start? Do you know what league SCSU plays in? Do you know it's like about 1/3 of the way through the season. Why is it the default position of the Minnesota hockey egg-head-set that just because kids are playing for UAA that they have no talent? Because they aren't from Minnesota so much? Pfft ... best thing you can do for the team you follow would be to retire permanently from the internet.

Far be it for me to try to defend SCSU but ffs sparkles ... it's like about 1/3 through the season. Quit your hand wringing and arm flailing and take a look at your team and see what you see if you "know puck" instead of listening to what a bunch of fools write about them in the preseason based on nothing but numbers. I don't know if the Huskies will get better as the season goes along or will end up in the standings where they are now. And neither do you.

I apologize if this doesn't fully make sense, I played a drinking game where I drank every time you said "know puck" (way to run with and overuse a phrase I used once buddah!) and now I'm having a hard time reading my keyboard.

Unfortunately I got to the party late and the case has already sorta been made, but let's follow it up... In the ten years I've been following the WCHA, UAA has never had a goalie as talented as Mike Lee. Probably hasn't had anyone as talented as Dan Dunn. That's our one-two rotation. You guys keep running with the Olthius' and Christianson's and Kamal's of the world, let me know when you host a first round playoff series.

You had one player last year who topped double-digits in goals scored, and he bolted 'cause his back was hurting from carrying his team. We had five, four of whom returned. THAT'S why we were picked so high in the polls... it wasn't pulling names out of a hat, if that were the case, Anchorage would randomly be ranked some years. It was because we lost only two valuable players on a team that was among the last 8 standing last year. Who do you have that'll ever see the NHL on the squad this year? Hanowski, Marvin and Lee will all get NHL ice time, and I wouldn't be surprised if one or two more kinda surprise us and do as well.

The above rant is not directed at any of the other UAA fans by the way. Suze, jimjam, all the rest of you, congrats on the 2 points, no hard feelings at all from this guy on Novak, and best of luck to you the rest of the way. But to the person who called me out, I'd remove those green and gold glasses of yours before driving; even in a sparsely populated place like Alaska you're likely to hurt someone.

See my original rant @ you was meant to indicate that YOU have no idea what talent is. Thanks for providing an additional example.

Nathan Lawson was as "talented" a goaltender as has been in the WCHA over the last ten years. You wouldn't know that because you know nothing about UAA. That was my point.

You had one player last year who topped double-digits in goals scored, and he bolted 'cause his back was hurting from carrying his team.
Wrong again. UAA had the WCHA's leading goal scorer on the team and he "bolted" because his 4 year career was over. SEE how little you actually know .. puck?

If you'd bother to do any sort of reading before you post here you'd have taken a look at my blog and the preview I wrote regarding SCSU and/or maybe even taking the time to read my assessments of the Seawolves. Gleaning your knowledge from this place alone and the In Bob You Trust weekly radio show won't serve you well.

Marvin won't skate in the NHL unless he impresses someone with his physical play in the AHL. As to Hanowski, I couldn't say at this point. And saying any goalie in D1 will skate in the NHL is foolish since it's the singularly most difficult position to work your way into that league.

As far as current UAA players with a shot at the bigs I can name three with the potential .. Wes McLeod, Tommy Grant and Matt Bailey ... maybe even Sean Wiles with an outside shot to play there.

The above rant ...
Is as useless and ill-informed as the post which spurred my to call you out as the "know-nothing-puck" that you clearly are. Don't pose and pretend you know about hockey and talent. You clearly don't. Stick to the rah rah stuff or as I said do your fanbase a favor and retire from the internet.

Your problem isn't unique to you. Plenty of provincial Minnysoda-centric hockey folks write UAA off without any real understanding as to the challenges the program faces. I'll not bother to educate you to those either.

So there's that.

No. Kevin Clark was TIED for 2ND in the WCHA. You are now lying about something that is easily fact-checked. You moron. Putting it in bold doesn't make it correct.

No one cares what you think.
"Hey, did you hear what the delusional UAA blogger said about our team in their preview?"
"Of course. It's essential reading. Everybody who is anybody reads that blog and if they don't they are stupid"
Are you really that full of yourself? Disagreeing is fine, but you act like you are the authority on the prospects of players NHL chances.

What are your credentials? Are you an NHL scout? If not, why should anyone care what you think about the odds of players making it to the NHL? You insult the intelligence of everyone that disagrees with you on this board, but have yet to provide one shread of evidence to back up your claims. Continue on with your delusions of grandeur about how you are a great hockey mind. You are the only one who believes it.

Here is an interesting quote from you in your Saturday chat comments:

Your overwhelming jealousy regarding my mastery of language, astute hockey observations and downright pwnage of all things St. Cloud makes you appear quite petty.

The massive rapid ingestion of air displayed by the team you support this weekend as well as the ongoing hand-wringing of your fellow schizophrenic fans who can both vociferously support then demean said team has provided me with sublime entertainment.

I suggest you drink MoAR alcohol ... perhaps on an hourly basis.

Nate Lawson, is as talented as Mike Lee, right. That's why Nate Lawson drummed up enough interest in him to warrant an NHL draft pick, or won a gold medal for Team USA. That's why his 3-yeard WCHA career (which he started as a 21 year old) GAA and save % was horribly below Mike Lee's freshman year (which he started at age 18). Yes, Nate Lawson is more TALENTED... that's why he's been blowing up since he left Anchorage, whereas Mike Lee will never see ice again.

Ok, so most of these things we can't really prove, though I think stats and numbers and general people who aren't crazy and follow college hockey would think point to me making more valid points here than you, but let's deal with something we CAN prove, albeit eventually. So are you saying that UAA's current team will have as many, dare I even say, more NHL players than the current SCSU team?

Do I really have to cut and paste what I said (Okay ... I will)?

You were the weak link in the 3rd grade game where everyone whispers a short sentence to the kid next to them to teach the lesson about how communication breaks down weren't you?

I said ...

Now explain (without continuing to abruptively destroy common sentence structure) exactly how that turns into some declarative statement that UAA will have more players from it's current team in the NHL than SCSU?

Only a boob would deign to make anything like that pompous of a prediction. They may ... they may not. Do you have an inkling of the number of variables that come into play with regard to any talented player making it into the NHL?

And evidence of Lawson's talent is his .927 and .922 save percentages in two AHL seasons so far. Which is off point anyway since it was merely used as an example to show how little you know about UAA hockey after made "boob-ish" declarative statements.

Lee > Lawson

2010/2011 SCSU team > 2010/2011 UAA team (talent-wise)

You've done absolutely nothing to refute any claims that either are equal. And I'd wager that right, this SCSU team ends up having at least 2-3 MORE NHL players than UAA's team. But I'm sure you're currently figuring out a way to weasel out of your claim that UAA has as much NHL talent.

The envy just doesn't cease with you does it? Probably shouldn't attack others for their ability to do something which you cannot. Regardless of the value with which you associate it. If you find a place I made that claim then let me know. Also, I no longer wager with St. Cloud fans (though I once did so frequently) since "STCHuskies" welched on the last one.

And so since this seems to be the third time you've shown a complete inability to grasp the words I've previously written then it's time for another episode of ...
