Castleton changes goalies from Hoy to Weaver after second goal of period.
Shots are 30-6 Norwich.
How did Castleton beat Buffalo State??
wonder what is wrong with dembowski?
not sure how they beat buff state, though i would guess buff state is not very strong either. they may be keeping it close with utica...but utica is no norwich (and koniar is an excellent goalie who could well have about 60 saves already for all we know)

She is working her way back from an injury and I heard she may be back by December.
elmira and oswego tied at 0 at the 1st intermission...oswego looks better offensively than they have in the past, elmira having trouble with the lakers goaltender. they will have to capitalize on a powerplay

The name on the front is a hell of a lot more important than the one on the back....Go Elmira College Women's Hockey 11-12

Emi Williams is one of the most underrated goalies in the country.
Very impressed with a short bench NEC team after the first period. They are diving all over the place blocking shots and keeping Norwich out wide. Great individual move by Julie Fortier for the lone Norwich goal. She circled behind the net and then came out front, outwaited White and then slid it by her five hole on the ice.
Biggest kudos goes to Jamie Tabb for diving in front of a Kayla Parsons slapshot from the point on the PP.
still 0-0 for elmira and oswego at 2nd intermission. game is becoming very physical, as a pile-on in front of the goal resulted in some pushing, shoving, and cheap shots, but no penalties or ejections resulted. should be an interesting 3rd period, a powerplay goal will probably win it for either team.

If you want your early favorite for the Laura Hurd award winner...Her name is Sophie Leclerc.
Leclerc with a breakaway goal and another goal this period to bring her total to six on the season. 10 points through 3 2/3rds games.
NEC got a goal off a scrum in front. Fortin was holding the post and the puck was sitting right next to her skate...Norwich dman elected to play the man rather than the puck and a trailer came in and dove for the puck and knocked it past Fortin.
3-1 Norwich after 2 periods.
Shots in the period were 13-8 Norwich.
Still very impressed with how NEC has made adjustments this weekend. Playing much better than last weekend. Let's see how they do in the third period though with the short bench. Norwich has been rolling four lines pretty much the whole game so they should in theory still have the legs.
No sign of a let up yet from NEC but that doesn't mean 20 more minutes won't change that.
Kudos to coach Paulsen. we'll see what the third period holds.
