"Actually, the game IS over before the shootout?" I have seen precious few people leaving the rink before a shootout ends. The fans who attend games apparently don't subscribe to your "game over" theory, much as the scorekeepers don't subscribe to the idea that shootout goals don't count.
It's still a goal unlike any of us has ever seen.

Whatever anyone says about shootouts, I think one thing is unarguable - preseason doesn't count. alfablue (and, well, everyone else) is right. Meaningless goal.

Goals in shootouts don't go in your goals scored column. Those are seperated. So I guess you are half-right there.

I am well aware of how the word is spelled, it's an "unsavory" word in the uscho forums and will be *&^%$'d if spelled correctly dummy . Jersey popping is for tools and currently UM has two garages just to house them all.

That's three-quarters more right than he typically is. Quite an achievement.

Still doesn't make it any more legendary than the little kid lifting the puck for an exhibition shoot out. They end up meaning the same in the end. Being a shootout for a minor leage exhibition game renders this to not meaning anything.

Anyway, even if I've never seen it before, it still doesn't make it terribly interesting. Let alone legendary.

OTOH- most of the goals being posted as counterpoints were big games- championships, tournaments, etc. The goals meant someting as well as being interesting to see.

MMFF obviously should have done a jersey pop afterwords.
