  • RIT 2010-11: What do Tigers dream of?

When they take a little Tiger snooze?
Do they dream of mauling goalies?
And opponents in their hockey suits.

    Exhibition game against Wilfred Laurer.

Have to figure both goalies will get about a half of work, unless they want to give Roppenan some time. I think we will see mostly Madelora and Watson. Another key question is on the blue line with the losses of Ringwald, Tanev, and Mazur.

The big three forwards return. I figure RIT will rely heavily on them early on and see who steps up as secondary scorers.

From Coach Wilson's quotes on the player pages, I'm willing to bet watson will be the starting goalie come the UNO tourney. As far as D goes, we did get a few freshman who are big bodied defenders, and you also have to take into account that it's not just one or two or 3 players that bring success it's the whole team. Yes, those are the area's of concern. But I'm looking on the bright side.

Not sure where you are reading player pages from - as the only thing I know of that would apply would be the writeup for the freshmen.

I expect that both Madelora and Watson will play a game in the UNO tournament.

We will see what the new D-men bring to the table. Ringwald was such a lock-down D-man that he will be hard to replace. One plus is that Eckenswiller will be back so that will help the cause. Spivak got good playing them and did fairly well I thought. I expect Haltigan and Seracino to have good years and the main returning D-men.

Completely agree with you. As far as pages go:

        Josh Watson

        Shane Madalora

I also really want to see Mitchell play. He's massive. Height: 6-3, Weight: 195

Guys as big as Mitchell don't often go to schools like RIT unless they are diamonds in the rough or the coaching staff gets a little lucky. Definately will be interested to see what he brings to the table.

I'm unsure as to which I consider a bigger question mark on defense coming into the season: replacing the entirity of the shut-down pairing, or that the Tigers are going to have at minimum two freshmen defensemen in the lineup every night.

I see from his bio that Eckenswiller played with Haltigan in Oakville prior to RIT...does anyone know if they were a pairing there?

EDIT: For that matter, have they played together at RIT? I don't remember : :

I think the biggest area of concern for me is goaltending. As we should all know, an excellent goalie can make an average team very good, but a below-average goalie can make a very good team very average.
                          My Four Favorite teams:
RIT and anyone who is beating Canisius
Cornell and anyone who is beating Harvard

If tyranny and oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy. - James Madison

I am not afraid of terrorism, and I want the Government to stop being afraid on my behalf. I understand that it will not be possible to stop all terrorist acts. I am not afraid!!!!

What's this doing on page 2 when a $3.5 million expansion of The Ritter was just announced?

(It's the new locker rooms and other facilities being built to the east of the arena.)

                              http://www.ritathletics.com/news/201...928103510.aspx

                              A couple oddities I've noticed:

                              1) They're starting the construction in October and ending in April. That seems a bit backwards; wouldn't it make more sense to start it after hockey's done for the year and have it finished before it starts up again?

                              2) Handicapped stalls in the locker rooms' rest rooms?
