Interesting games with many of the teams above between now and the end of the season, and much can happen. Should be interesting down the stretch.

Will River Falls be #1 on monday?

Hmmm...tough call. By rights, yes. Oswego deserves kudos for a great performance and, apparently, great goaltending. But...Oswego is not even particularly close to being ranked and, I think, is close to a 500 team. A loss such as that SHOULD affect a team's ranking. But we'll see. Hard not to drop RIT to #2 with UWRF still undefeated, but they are both, quite obviously, the class acts of their regions.

Probably not. RIT is an Eastern power house(legitimately) and just had an "off" game against a sub 500 team. A fluke in eastern eyes. UWRF is still just queen of the JV's

Look at Rutters D3 poll and see what being undefeated did for UWRF through 2/12:confused:

Berry Patch Comparisons

% against .500 or better overall % combined %
RIT 11-1-2 .857 21-1-2 .917 .887
UWRF 13-0-2 .933 20-0-3 .935 .934

Who's the better team? I don't really know. Hopefully they see each other in the playoffs.

Hard to argue with your logic, nbound, and I concur with your perspective of how the East views it. Clearly, when you're an Easter powerhouse, losses against nobodies have no bearing on the matter, they are flukes. Just look at how long Eastern powerhouse Amherst had stayed in the top 5 while acquiring 3, 4, 5 losses (ranked 7 in latest poll), despite the ever more difficult task of pretending the emperor was still wearing the sartorial splendor of the past couple years! It seems now that Amherst is almost certain to finish the year with at least 6, maybe more, losses. Is that a top 5 team overall when we'll almost certainly have at least 5 teams in the East alone with better records?

Of course, UWRF deserves to be ranked below RIT, and probably other Eastern teams, because they are only a Western powerhouse. With respect to that issue, I reluctantly agree with gojackets that the NCHA is very arguably the strongest conference, top to bottom, in the country. Any of the Eastern powrhouse teams would have a very difficult time playing through the entire NCHA schedule without suffering at least one loss. UWRF's record so far is quite a feat.

One and two are simple to pick and could go ethier way but you have to be punished if you lose to an unranked team and the other guy has not lost yet. After that 3 to around 12 or 13 have many spots to close to call. Should be an interesting couple of weeks between the end of the season and league playoffs. The whole division is getting better fast I have seen quite a few well played games this year. Thank you to all the coaches and players for all the hard work you have put in this has been a great year to watch D-3 hockey.
