I first heard about him on a Minnesota high school hockey special on FSN North. I had never heard on him, but after the show I did some "searches". Quite a sad story.

I had a couple of cousins that played with him on the state tourney team. I was pretty young, but I remember them being crushed. We still occasionally talk about him to this day. They have some interesting, not for public consumption storied about themselves and George.

Dirty - I'd be more suited to be the hockey coach at NDSU.

I played football with George and he was amazing and he played both sides of the ball.

I was lucky enough to know George as a friend.

I often wonder what kind of impact (if any) he would have had on the game at the college, olympic and pro level.

              RIP buddy.

I've heard that also, many times. But in the linked article Cochrane's wife insists it is not.

I actually was thinking about this a couple of weeks ago, not sure why.

R.I.P. big George, you were an unreal high school hockey player!! I was looking forward to watching his career, though I knew he would be a giant thorn in the Gophers side!!
