Useless, but perhaps mildly interesting, observation of the day. Wisconsin and Denver are the only two teams in division 1 college hockey in the 2009-2010 season not to have incurred a losing "streak" this season. Neither team has lost more than one game in a row at any point in the season.

Wisconsin's longest stretch of futility was a loss at Colorado College followed by a tie at home versus Denver.

Denver's longest stretch without a win came in its two game series in Madison when it tied the Badgers on Friday night and lost to them on Saturday night.

Both teams enter today's game having lost yesterday. Unless today's game ends in a tie one of the teams will compile its first losing "streak" of the season.

[Yale made it through the regular season without a losing streak, but lost its final game of the regular season to Quinnipiac and its first playoff game to Brown.]
sigpic Eight. ....with a design on nine.

Denver is playing for the #1 overall seed, Wisco playing for a #1 seed, #3 or #4 overall. This game means quite a bit.

Ageed. Could this be the deciding game as to who gets to come back to St. Paul next week? Would they send a lower no. 1 seed if that turns out to be St. Cloud or UND back to St. Paul next weekend, over Denver or UW just because they won their league tourny this weekend and earned the spot? From what I can tell, both games today at the X are very important to all the teams involved. Can't wait to head over there in an hour.

If any combination of SCSU, UW or UND finish seeded 4 and 5, my money is on that pair to be at the X next week. I think a 3 and 6 combo would also work.

A Denver win and a Sioux win makes the Sioux a number one seed. Go DU!
Did I just say go DU?

Seeds 3-6 could be V-E-R-Y interesting.
                    UND, SCSU, UW, and BC.
Who goes to Worcester with BC and who comes back to the X?
