My view of the kick-in goal was inconclusive. I heard from others with a better view that the kick was blatant. Certainly Doocy and Elam didn't dawdle over the review before disallowing the goal.

Anyone have any more details?West and Francis were rather emphatic in their opinion that the player who "scored" had her stick in the air at the time the puck was propelled into the net, and that it was not a good goal. Matt Desrosiers said conversation on the Clarkson bench was to the effect that it was kicked in, but the player who did so or another player may have gotten a stick on it before it went in.

USCHO has the press conference in this link (http://www.uscho.com/recaps/20092010/w/03/13/ckn-umn.php).

Okay, just saw the replay from the opposite angle. I still want to see the radar gun, but I honestly don't know how Noora missed it. :( Thankfully the Gophers were able to overcome that.

Dave, how close to the crossbar was that? To me it almost seemed like she gave up on it because she thought it was going over the net. I'm sure she was seeing that shot in her sleep last night.

Well, one of the reasons it bounced out so quickly was that it was very close to the upper back bar of the net. I'll just leave it at that. I don't think Noora "gave up on it".

Hmmm, that does look just a tiny bit like a kick.

The NCAA doesn't allow us to make a full video archive available so there is no such thing. You can use the link below to download the highlights, which include the tying goal.

Fantastic.

Seriously, the Olympics, for all their coverage issues, had highlight videos for every single event. What obscure contracting issues prevent the NCAA from putting a highlight video like this front and center on their women's hockey page right now?

Seriously that game-tying Clarkson goal should have been on SportsCenter Top 10 Plays, and it's a shame it can only be found on our board.

Thanks, Brian.

If they hear anything about this package they won't have heard it from me.

Thanks.

You know that your team has played too many OT games when they score in sudden death of an NCAA game and only two players leave their feet in the goal celebration. Or maybe that's how players have been getting hurt?
