Higgs apparently plays a similar game to Watts. Again, we will see.
There are great hockey players that don't score. They are the hardest to find, evaluate............ and sign Every body needs a Kraig Nienhaus. Heck the Bruins loved him till he ****ed off Harry

Consequently, you don't get guys who are defensive specialists, developing that skill set for their junior teams..
Maybe but you find the player that you can coach into a real good defensive forward. Skating abitity, a little size, the will to do it blah blah

Agreed most good juniors believe that they need to be scorers or fighters to play at the next level.
But there are junior players that know a strong role player has a spot at the next level. Seth needs to find em.

JL is an asset no doubt about it.
Any word on what lies ahead for the engineers when it come to a lunch pail player? I am sure as the board discusses JL and his likes, Seth is looking for that key role player. Anyone know who he is?
Well, we have a few in Malchuk, Lee and Rabbani. For my money, all three of those guys qualify as hard hat wearin' "lunch pail" guys.

Curadi will certainly be a stay at home blueliner, whenever he arrives in Troy. Tinordi has good size ...and he has found some offense this season. If Greg Burgdoerfer plays with even half the edge his brother has, he will be causing all sorts of havoc in front of opposing goalies. If he really gets it going, Doc might be compelled to make a trip to HFH.

It would not surprise me at all to hear about a couple of additional surprise recruits for the fall. We should all know by now that Seth never stops turning over stones...

I noticed that Heisenberg has listed Burlington's Luke Juha as being Clarkson bound...he would have been a nice surprise.

G Burgdoerfer had 3 goals as a freshman on a very good Air Force team that went to the frozen eight ( can I say that) with a lot of upper class scoring. He may be a pleasant surprise in the points dept. I also look for Lee to have a good second year. He started off the season impressively from reports all over the ice but then got hurt. Look for him to live up to billing. Tyler H should be healthy and hopefully can put up big numbers next season.

I think looking for people with RPI connections for an assistant may be looking in the wrong places. Seth is rather well connected after all.

Seth has said that he wants to connect to RPI's past. What better way than to have an AC who was a member of our last NCAA championship team?

BTW, there is confirmation that the season starts on 10/8.

Home opener set for Oct. 16th against Bentley. Im hoping theres an exhibition game vs a Canadian School that first weekend in October. I dont wanna have to wait another two weeks to see the boys at HFH again. So that should leave five games left which we dont know the dates of: Boston U., at Northeastern, Niagara and the 2 league games vs Union. The trip to Alabama will be around New Years, we just dont know the exact dates yet.

I like the sound of a Friday-Saturday ECAC showdown with Union in November while students are in, with a Friday home game for Black Friday and then Saturday night in Schenectady.
