Sweet. Nice pick up. Team should be older and stronger this year.

Doubtful, but not impossible. This one's from British Columbia. Chad Anderson is from Nova Scotia. Opposite side of the continent, anybody?

It's kind of sad, actually...Here it’s go to the rink, pay for your ice time and practice for an hour where we could just walk to the rink and skate for four hours if we wanted to...It was just a lot of fun. I wish I could go back and be eight years old for a couple days" -Neal Broten

I see he will be a junior, from Akwesasne (where I work most often), also not far from this team.

Transferring from the 2-time defending National Champions, whose ACHA team is treated by the school as a fully-funded varsity sport. His decision to seek transfer to an NCAA team was probably based on the fact that he was in the top 10 in scoring in the league in both years at Lindenwood. If the 71 stated on Lindenwood's websitee is correct (ACHA website only says 64), that would make him #3 in points this past season.

Or, it might have something to do with the recently-announced resignation of Lindenwood's head coach Derek Schaub, who will now coach the lindenwood Lacrosse team. My money's on some combination of the 2.

I did ask an Akwesasne hockey coach today about Ian Boots, and he could not confirm the transfer to Oswego, but did say it made sense to him, and he believes Ian graduated from Salmon River High School in 2002 - EIGHT years ago , his DOB is Oct 17 1986, a little above average for a Junior. Researching a little more shows he was drafted #294, by the Ontario Hockey League in 2002

What is up with going from 9 goals and 16 assits and being 5th in points as a Freshman to 1 goal and 3 assists in 18 games, Injury? If he wanted to be close to home why didn't he just go to Plattsburgh or Potsdam aren't they close to the Res up there.

A whole 70 miles difference from Hogansburg to Oswego then to Plattsburgh isn't much. Plus you have to figure in the $$$$ that Oswego brings to the table more then Plattsburgh. The chance to be an impact player on National contender rather then say Potsdam...who knows. Maybe growing up in the North Country maybe he didn't care for the Birds or Bears.... Doncherry maybe you could shed some light on things but is there a player on Oswego's team that Boots was friends with in the Junior system. Ian was a great player for Salmon and should be an impact player at Oswego and the national stage. Is he a replacement for Selleck....not sure I want to put that tag on him yet, but they've (Oswego) surely gone from a question mark to a legitimate contender offensively.

He is from the Canadian side (Ontario) of the Akwesasne Reservation, and has both Canadian Citizenship and Tribal status, he should qualify for the international aid package at either Oswego or Plattsburgh. My guess, he felt he could be a "bigger fish" at Oswego than Plattsburgh. He did play in Plattsburgh as a member of the Champlain Valley Junior A Elite team.
