I could see it making sense if one of the D's to start the game had injury issues, but who on D is that much of an impact player to not just sit them down and play Shemansky AND Banwell?

Thought Banwell played well up front on Friday.........played with grit, hit anything that was red and disrupted UMass in their end on the heavy forecheck.....Did not see the same intensity on Sat.......
Added some size and pysicality up front

maybe, just maybe they are tired and burnt out from overachieving for so long. Tim used to know how to get the teams to peak at the right time. Jerry York is a master of that. Do you suppose that they peaked a little too early?... just asking

well wasn't Umillie awesome at that... you know... doing good in the reguar season then tanking at the end of the season? is Umillie on the Maine bench?

U. S. college hockey just received a huge recruiting tool. The U.S. team is comprised mostly of U.S. college hockey players and the Canadian team mostly Major Jr. players. It's not over yet, but that was a huge win for the U.S. Incredible game! Ryan Miller for President! I bet every college hockey player in America was watching that game.

Talking to folks that were there last night- they didn't think Maine played that badly last night. Listening to UML's radio guys they thought your team played well all weekend! Reading in here is a different story. Maybe you guys should listen to UML radio for a boost! They were impressed.

I want some of what they're smoking. Watching it on TV was rough....even the WABI commentators were ragging on the D men making mistakes left and right.

right... Umillie [heh] has no idea how to get his teams to hit their peak at the "right" time. (a lotta UNH fans want him out because of that)
for a bunch of years Jack peaked in February
but Tim was getting the boys to peak at the right time... iwill give him that.. he peaked after Whistling Dick did.

Didn't Banwell start the game at Forward? I know he played D later on but why would you leave Shemansky out when you have a Dman playing forward?.

Why do you play Jeff Marshall or Brett Carriere at forward, and then put Keenan Hopson at defense?

Didn't Banwell start the game at Forward? I know he played D later on but why would you leave Shemansky out when you have a Dman playing forward?.

They are trying to get Banwell untracked offensively.
