DU gets another committment for 2011, forward Daniel Doremus who grew up in Aspen and Steamboat. DG has all the details in the LetsGoDU Blog. Mike Chambers broke the story in his Denver Post Blog. Daniel is currently playing for former DU players Angelo Ricci and Shawn Kurulak on the Colorado Thunderbirds.

Got the Award Banquet email today. Among the "banquet pledge opportunities" is "Feed a hungry player = $50." Are you kidding me? Is that supposed to be funny?

So, Boone is not politically correct enough, but it is OK to make snobby, elitist-sounding jokes during tough economic times?

Maybe the Chancellor had nothing to with the flyer, but someone please help me here.
The 'Feed a Hungry Player' option has been on the banquet invites for many years. It's really just a cutesy term to designate a $50 hockey donation if you can't come to the banquet. The players will not go hungry whether you mail a donation or not.

Great, positve front page of the Denver Post sport section story on DU school spirit and improving Magness crowds, with great quotes from our own DGGoddard.

This is a tremendous story and kudos to DG for his work in getting it done.

That's not so bad -- I heard that CC is running a "Vaccinate a sickly player = $50" campaign. It appears to have started last year as the tigers' players don't seem to have had their standard run of communicable disease this year.

You can't spell vaccinate without CC...

Nice to see Chambers get some well-deserved front page coverage. Looking forward to seeing ya Friday night, DG.

There has been some talk about whether Stastny will be at the DU game with his silver medal. I got the impression it was mostly wishful thinking by us DU fans. Does anyone know whether it might actually happen?

Haven't heard a thing and I believe it is wishful thinking on our parts.
