  • Mpls. Star Tribune: "What's Wrong with the Gohers?"

This newspaper devoted the front page of the sports section with this headling, and filled up page 2 with discussion. Blame was placed on coaches, recruiting, and lackadaisacal play. Sonmor said they lack a "vigorous recruiter like Bob Motzko". Well, all that and the fact that they just simply suck. On the Friday before the Michigan Tech series, the Gopher hockey preview was placed on the last page with small print in a 3 x 5 inch space. I guess this is the continuation of the end of any gopher dominance. It breaks my heart to say this and to watch it unfold, but it is what it is. They're apparently following the lead of the football team. Too bad there aren't low level bowl games in hockey.

Keep an open mind. Just don't be so open-minded that your brain falls out.

Spelling mistakes in headlines are never good.

Agreed. The Star Tribune should look at getting a new editor.

Ok, now I am going to Spot the Differences, then read about Goofus and Gallant.

what's wrong is an overrated team (the bu of the wcha) is who expected to contend for titles year after year, even when losing top scorers. underrated teams at the beginning of the year like tUMD and St Cloud might get some recognition now that the gophers are falling.

The article should be available Monday on http://www.startribune.com

The Minneapolis Star & Tribune has started to delay posting of certain Sunday stories online, making it exclusive to people who actually purchase the paper and posting it online a day later when it's thought of as, "Old news."

OK, so I didn't proofread the title. I knocked the pee out of the Gophers. Just another example of their demise-they get no respect.

I still don't get it. If I click on the link, I get an article that says something like "articles you'll only see in Sunday's paper". Then there are about five stories listed with about 2 sentence descriptions, one of which is this article.

I thought it was funny sonmor says Motzko is doing such a good job recruiting scorers. Last I checked the Huskies can't score either. I am with skeeterman on this one, it was a fun article to read and I enjoyed every minute of it.

The Herb Brooks National Hockey Center..... I wonder who originally came up with that.

Sunday only articles in the Strib are not available until Wednesday.
For those who peruse message boards there is nothing new and/or groundbreaking in the Strib story or in Skeeter's obsession with MN Hockey.
