I can't really blame all four of their fans for being ticked off. Donato keeps getting great recruits and then brings them aboard to play some awful brand of hockey.

The Patroon level of donation status changes over time. The longer you've been an alum, the more you have to donate. This is why you may see a sizeable chunk of young alums in the Patroon Room (just graduated is $100, 1-5 yrs I believe is $250).

What's uncool is when they send young alumni the same donation cards they do for those who have been out of school for 30+ years. Oh thanks RPI for letting me know a donation of $1.6 million will give me a named professorship! Kinda just feels like a slap in the face.

Whatever method they're using to calculate the fee it isn't working as the crowd in the room this year has thinned measurably. The economy certainly has something to do with this.

Probably a good bet someone playing in this game.

Possible candidates for recruitment(read: uncommitted):

Des Moines
H.T. Lenz: He's a 5'10" 175 forward, but he's also an '89. He's putting up decent scoring numbers for a team that doesn't score much.
Austin Coldwell: He's a 6'1" 190 defenseman and a '90. 6 goals, 6 assists this year and not much to report PIM-wise.
Brandon Carlson: 6'2" 200 defenseman who is a '92. 3 goals, 3 assists, 50 PIM and a team low -17 +/-. All three of his goals are power play goals.

Fargo
Garrett Allen: 5'11" 170 forward and a '92. Fargo seems to score even less than Des Moines does, but Allen is putting up respectable numbers. 9 goals, 7 assists in 24 games.
Grant Scott: 6'2" 210 defenseman and a '90. Fargo's site isn't one much for elaborate statistics but he's got 1 goal and 5 assists.
Chad Demers: 5'10" 175 forward and a '90. 3 goals and 5 assists in 20 games. Yawn.
Brian Cooper: 5'9" 175 forward and a '93. 2 goals, 2 assists in 21 games.
Oleg Yevenko: 6'7" 225 defenseman and a '91 from Belarus. 1 goal, 2 assists in 20 games. I'd imagine he's a defensive specialist. His weight would indicate he's not an iceberg either.

Just some food for thought and snooping around. I was bored so, hey, why not?

Grant Scott is a US U-18 alum who was one of those rare non-Minnesotans to commit to the University of Minnesota. He quit the Gophers after only one game (read: Lucia wasn't giving him any playing time) and Dean Blais took him in at Fargo (which is quickly becoming a top NAHL program even without Blais). Given our need for some more defensemen, his background, and Blais' bonafide eye for talent, I really hope Scott's the one (or one of the ones) on our radar.

Maybe Seth could have Jerry ask Dean Blais about him while they're in Saskatoon.

Yevenko might be fun too, on his size alone.

I'd hope that means Yevenko being 6'7" 225 means he's a fast wrecking ball and not a beanpole.
