I've kind of forgotten about the possibility of Campbell leaving early too.
this is the least surprising news of the century. the amount of scouts i've seen at the last bunch of home games is huge.

Tough to tell how long he'll be out. According to the local newspaper ...
The Braves were without captain Shayne Thompson, who left Friday night's contest early with an upper body injury. Thompson skated in the warm-up, but decided not to play.
So hopefully, this isn't anything serious.

Recruit info from last night (I'll try and do this as much as possible):

Marc Boulanger, G, Olds. 35 saves on 38 shots, in 65:53 of ice time in a 4-3 OT win for his team.

Re: UML Recruiting 2010 and beyond

Last night, Josh Holmstrom and Chad Ruhwedel's Sioux Falls Stampede beat Indiana 6-4. Holmstrom had a 1-1-2 (and the second star), while Ruhwedel was a +2.

In the BCHL, Tyler Brickler scored his first goal of the season (he has 3 assists in 5 games in the USHL) for Westside, as the Warriors won 5-2.

In the CCHL, Julian Melchiori was a -1 in Newmarket's 4-2 loss.

In the EJHL, Bill Eiserman had no points in the Monarchs 4-4 tie. Chris Eiserman didn't play.

In the AJHL, Marc Boulanger (named the "Home Star") made 38 saves out of 39 shots in the Grizzlys 1-1 tie. After a tough start due to his coming back from an injury, his play his pulled him into the top 10 in GAA in the league.

UMass picked up 2 commits for 2010 next year, including one from what seems to be their personal pipeline from the NJ Rockets (Atlantic Hockey).

Don't have the time to do the whole recap, but Julian Melchiori scored the GWG in OT last night for the CCHL Hurricanes. And in the AJHL, Boulanger had 27 saves his team's 3-1 win.

Have seen several of these kids play over past year+/-

Rayner will be a filler at best. Surprised Blaise went with him.
Pendenza will be a good one, non stop.
Brickler will be a filler as well. Soft and not that big. Changes teams a lot.
The Yeadon kid is an interesting prospect. Great kid and teammate but tio date has 1 goal in 18 games for EJ Bruins. That is nota strong league and the kids who have dominated it, like Henrion etc are doing ok, him after a year with US team. Will have to pick it up. Also, might be a little small for hockey east.

Thanks for the info. I haven't had the opportunity to see any of these guys, but have heard good things about most of them. Coach MacDonald has been recruiting pretty well, so we'll see.

Sounds like they are the ones getting scholorship money, others will be walk ons with aid, awarded after mid Feb. If not, it goes vs their cap.

That sounds about right. With the high regard that Melchiori's held in, he's probably on a full, and then I'm sure there are some splits amongst the rest.

So this leaves Holmstrom and Rayner as walk-ons? Holmstrom doesn't surprise me, but Rayner, who committed a while back surprises me a bit. Maybe he's having a change of heart? Or he's going to sign during the next period?

Bob, did he say they were still recruiting for next season?
