Video replay doesn't lie.

What, specifically, caused Kleiman to get knocked out of position?

Kleiman clearly trips Gaulrapp who then falls back into him.

Kleiman has time to get to his feet for a solid 3 secs after tangling with Gaulrapp .. then Hanner buries the goal.

Refs called man in the crease on Gaulrapp instead of goaltender interference (which it was not in the first place) and they wiped the goal based on that call.

Does Oswego's WTOP still do select games as a webcast at all? I remember last year or the year before they did a cople games I saw.

For those on WNYO...still doing a good job guys, keep it up!

Last year was the first year of webcasting. We put the Plattsburgh game and the SUNYAC Semis against Geneseo on the web as well as a women's game or 2. From what I've heard, webcasting hasn't been done this season b/c of money. Last year, I was told, it was paid for out of pocket by someone who worked for Campus Technology Services. JMD9 should be able to tell you more than that. I do think they are going to try and do some games in the 2nd semester - at the very least Plattsburgh.

Call: Parker (made the final call) was in front of the CSS bench during this incident getting an earful at the time of the goal.

The call was 'man in the crease' for #9 Joel Gaulrapp who was tripped by Kleiman. Gaulrapp never even touched the paint. Kleiman was JUST outside or on top of the crease at the time, and he also tripped Gaulrapp.

He had time to recover and setup for Derek Hanson's shot in which no Blue Devil was even near the paint.

Because of the call, the goal was called back and the game ended in a 1-1 tie. (Note: the ref on the goal line did signal goal)

You make the call, let the video tell you the story.

On another note,In the first intermission, who ever the guys are that are talking in between the periods on WNYO,were talking about how the crowds are rowdy in Oswego usually for their home games and how the arena is absolutly packed tonight their etc....He then stated that Oswego is 2nd in D-III in attendence and how Utica is #1 in attendence soley because Utica plays in their cities municipal arena.....what? Just because you play in an arena with a high Capacity doesen't mean at all that you'll get a lot of people to come to the games.....a perfect example would be Lebanon Valley, they play at the Hershypark arena with holds somewhere around 7,250.Lebanon Valley averages about 150 people to their games, which is about 2.5% percent filled.Another bias remark by the WNYO people...

I was listening to the broadcast including the intermission reports. There was mention somewhere in there of the municipal facility in Utica. And honestly, everything that they said was completely true. A large part of the attendance at Utica is from City Residents who go there for leisure time and to drink alcohol while there. Also, the connection was never made between Utica's attendance and the fact that it's because of a municipal center. In the postgame show the guy with the deep voice did point out that there wasn't a whole lot to do in Utica anymore. And there isn't. My grandparents live in Corn Hill and I personally am afraid to go outside when I visit them.

This is one reason why people fail to take Utica College student fans seriously. For every respectable fan there, there's someone who taints the name of a highly respectable hockey team by embellishing details to make the opposition look biased.

Sure, the color guy may need some work. He was stepping on the play by play guy who I thought was decent. With a little bit more time I think he'll be better on choosing his chances to talk.

But the intermission guys were fine. As a matter of fact, those three guys have done a couple of intermission reports so far and, I can tell you, they are a lot better than anyone else who has done it so far.

As a resident of Verona and an alum at Oswego it's hard for me to route for either team when they play UC. Those guys are the most balanced group yet.

It just angers me that some posters could be so childish. It ruins Utica College's reputation.[/QUOTE]

Ok,there was definitly a connection made from Utica's attendence and the Fact that Utica plays in the cities municipal arena! Why do you think they were even talking about the places where each team plays? .....becasue they were talking about the crowds that each team gets at their home games.Like i said before, just because you have a big arena, with a high capacity doesen't mean that your going to fill up the building(ie.Lebanon Valley),because you have a high capacity arena does not have any bearing on how many people you will get yo your games.....and your grandmas live in Corn Hill? we'll thats not exacly the most extravagent place/part in Utica to live in,so thats just one section of Utica thats rough.

The color guy may need some work? please! how did he try out to be on WNYO and get selected to be on there? he's annoying, has the worst prases, and doesent let the PBP guy do his job.The PBP guy,was decen't,and i mean that,he was pretty good.Utica has a radio station that does air some of our games, and i stress the word some, because UC hockey is not in any way a priority for them, because around here,as you probably know from being around here,High School football is the priority,so not until december,if were lucky, will UC hockey be aired on Radio.

I'm being Childish? how? i'm just giving my opinion on the how i thought WNYO did.....I never said the whole station is bad, just that they come off very bias to me,with most of the calls that were aginst Oswego's favor and that the Color guy for Oswego isint very good.

It certainly looks like he was tripped by the goalie from that angle.

Lebanon Valley is located in Annville, a good 15-20 minutes away from Hershey Park. Does that even constitute being in the same municipality? At least the Aud is located in the town where the team is from. I can agree with your assessment that having a large building doesn't guarantee big crowds, but Leb Valley seems too different of a situation to compare the two as apples. More like apples and oranges.

I'm sure the main reasons why no one goes to LVC games is because they haven't won more than 2 games since 05-06 and people would rather see the Hersey Bears play AHL hockey. However, it's not as accessible to the college students who go there being so far away (relative to say Oswego, Brockport, or Fredonia) from the arena.

Looks like he was going to try to emulate a Hanson Brother and slew foot the goalie, but the goalie stood his ground, no kicking / tripping motion by the goalie not to mention the goalie is in the crease / protected area. Completely agree that it was man in the crease; however that call needs to be made right away, not after the fact. I think that is where I would be upset.

Was he really in the crease?? Seems to me in the video it was very borderline. Plus you will notice the goalie coming out as Stout gains control right as the attacking player is skating to the front. It seems to me like one of those plays that doesn't get called if the puck clears the zone. The whistle was way late indeed, but like I said I think its one of those calls where the reff doesn't blow the whistle if the puck gets cleared....where was the ensuing faceoff? Seeing that there was no goaltender interference called I am assuming they called in man in the crease?

Correct, they called man in the crease on the Stout player that was tripped.

The point at which Gaulrapp is tripped he is NOT in the crease. I know it's tough to see on the compressed YouTube video. If you strictly watch the goaltender, you'll see him move his right leg out and push his stick out a little as he tries to trip Gaulrapp. Again, he was NOT in the crease and the back section of the goalies skates may have been touching the top of the crease. The goaltender was on top of his crease.

The sticking out of his leg and his blocker arm is clearly visible on the video, I don't think you can dispute that. (watch for Kleiman pivot on his right side as he prepares to trip Gaulrapp, It was not Gaulrapp's stick or skates that caused him to pivot out, it was on his own accord)

Even considering that contact which was the goaltenders fault in the first place, he still had time to recover to his feet for 2-3 seconds and then gets beat. The light came on and the ref signaled goal.

UW-Stout lines up to shake hands and the scoreboard never tallied our goal. The arena (including the CSS bench) went nuts right from the onset of the goal. It's only after the celebration the ref's talked for a good 10 minutes and then decided to RETRACT the goal and claim Gaulrapp was in the crease.

But again, if you watch closely w/out blowing up the video full screen, Gaulrapp never even touches the paint at all and was tripped outside the crease.

Note: This GWG (should have been) took place with 44.1 seconds to go in OT.

I'm uploading the video to another video host and hopefully it is a bit clearer, I've also slowed it down even more.

Great shot BDR. Two issues here. #1) It sure looked to me like they got it wrong. #2) To not call it right away looks awful. The only person who had a no-goal call going immediately was the lady on the bottom of the video on the white sweatshirt. She was quicker than Parker on this one. I liked the guys shouting pleasantries on the left during the celebration.

Maybe Parker was taking back from Stout for last season. He and John Boche handed them at least a point at SNC by missing very easy calls right before 2 Stout 3rd period goals. Those guys are usually the best we have out West but they embarassed themselves that night.

I disagree with the 2-3 seconds. If you slow it down..at the 11 second mark of the video the goaltender isn't on his feet...the red light is on at the 13 second mark. He had just gotten himself up and the goal was scored...maybe not man in the crease but definitely could have been goaltender interference.

You also claim the goalie initiated the contact...looks to me like he was going down in his crouch long before the contact occured...does not appear to me that he was purposefully sticking his foot out to trip the other player...the way the play was going...I don't forsee the advantage the goalie would have in tripping that player.

just trying to offer a different viewpoint

Answer: YES! The player even admitted to it, and has apologized for it! However, the governing body (in this case, FIFA) has upheld their own rules which, like the NCAA's rules, state that All Referee Decisions are made final upon completion of the match.

And I'm fairly certain that was the response you were looking for. ;)
