RPI vs UMass 10/8/09

Looking for more improvement going into the season. Would like to see Polacek and Helfrich score a goal along with the rookies.
Also, anxious to hear how Eddie Olczyk plays. Does anyone know how highly he is rated as a player?

Two games tonight and we face off 5 minutes before the other one. Does that make ours the first official game of the season? Everything else has been exhibition so far right?

If so then we've got lots of chances to get the first win. goal, save etc for the season. Here's hoping our first first of the year is a goal and not a hitting from behind major.

It honestly now feels like the summer is officially over. Getting ready for the first RPI game of the season. Now i just do not know whether after this game i will need my celebritory vodka or a tranquilizer. I do have higher expectations this year than I have had for 3 years-hard to explain but it is sort of an early 80's feeling. For the first time in a very long time I sense the potential is there. Let's Go Red!!

I'll be there in person tonight to see how things go. Can't get much worse than last year's debacle in Troy and I expect RPI to come out on fire for this one.

I'll also be interested in seeing if any of the missing men from the exhibition suit up (Jensen, Rabbani).

If this game was schedule for tomorrow or Friday I'd be there too. Unfortunately I've got two other hockey events (practice at 5 today, game tomorrow at 6:30 AM) that make a drive out and back from Amherst a non starter. I'll have to settle for the B's on TV tonight with my laptop checking this thread during the commercials.

Hopefully I can find a way to see a game in Troy soon because it is a long time before they cross the Hudson again.

I am a bit confused. Troy is on the east bank of the Hudson, so the team does not cross the Hudson to get to Amherst which is also the same side that you are.

How is that cheating? It's a perfectly legitimate way to go, especially around 5PM when there's a fair bit of traffic at the interchange. I know I'd want an alternative. Of course, I'd probably go over to MA 2 and down a little, but I'm weird like that. Either that or take NY 66 to hit up US 20, which really isn't too bad of a drive, compared to route 2.

I'd assume this game will be on WRPI, right? Their online stream just has music right now. I'm probably just too early (wanted to make sure the stream would work on the office computer here).
