Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...
I'll stand by my comments on Foam and the freshmen playing ahead of him ... put it this way: I was really hoping that these freshmen would prove good enough to get playing time early and win jobs. Could not be happier.
PP - yes, it was not good last year and thus far this year is (statistically) worse. Like I said, I'll give it some time. We have a lot of freshmen and sophs playing right now and some upperclassmen not producing yet.
The problem I have with your comment on penalties is that you seem to be basing it on seeing one game, that against the #4 team in the country played on the road in a fairly intimidating venue. Yes, we took 11 penalties for 30 minutes (included a 10-minute misconduct). The previous three games, Niagara had a total of just 9 penalties for 18 minutes. I don't think your big argument holds water. Yes, it can be pretty tough for a frosh-soph laden team in a situation like that. But I think this team came away from that game with a renewed sense of confidence and belief in itself, despite the close loss. Hey, we weren't playing Northern!
