My sources at the game say that one of the goals was an own goal and that Wisco did have a goal waved off. Also bad officiating is the word.....but when isnt it?
Wisco lost a ton this year, I'm not altogether stunned. I'm surprised, but not shocked like I would have been last year.
Not really....I mean they are still considerably the most stacked team this season. Theoretically, on paper, Wisco and Cornell should be tearing it up all season long. However, you are right in that Wisco is a young team with lots of talent that is either frosh or soph. Same with Cornell. Regarding Wisco, maybe its the loss of Johnson....

I think losing Johnson will have a pretty big impact.

If you're going to play a top team, the first game of the season is probably your best chance to spring an upset. Minnesota losing to Robert Morris last year comes to mind....Look for Wisconsin to bounce back strongly in Game 2.
UNH-UConn tied 0-0 after one. Penalties galore on the Wildcats late, with many two man advantages, though the Huskies struggled to get into any sort of rhythm. Shots 8-3 in favor of UNH (UConn didn't have a shot until the 14 minute mark.)
UNH scores two late in the period to take the lead. Kelly Cahill tipped home a nice cross crease feed from Micaela Long for the first tally. Long picked up the second on a nice cut in from the right wing over the top of the slot and firing a blister of a shot along the ice the eluded the UConn netminder.
