C Division should be interesting today as Bluewater, Aeros and LC all have 2 wins.Last edited by justthedriver; 09-19-2009, 09:58 AM.

Aeros and Bluewater won convincingly in A champ elimination games to move to the quarters. Nepean fell 3-2 to london, LC beat out the Ottawa Sens with a great late comeback.
Meanwhile in other A champs elimination games, TI knocked Stoney out, Missy needed a late comeback to win 2-1 over Cornwall and Cambridge beat OHA.
This sets up the following Quarter finals:
Cambridge London
Toronto Team Illinois
Little Caesars Brampton
Mississauga Bluewater
My betting money is on the Aeros to win it. They have been dominant sofar.
Again a great event put on by Stoney and Glenn Boles.Last edited by OnMAA; 09-20-2009, 10:14 PM.

The final was a very fast, exciting match, with a score of 1-1 at the end of regulation. Missy scored first in the 2nd period, which clearly rattled the Aeros, who had never trailed yet in the season. The Aeros tied it up on a shorty early in the 3rd period. In 4 on 4 overtime play, the Aeros successfully killed a penalty early on. Unfortunately, some controversy ensued. The Aeros scored toward the end of the 10 minute overtime on a 2 on 1 rush. The first Aeros player shot, and was tipped by the Missy goalie for a rebound, which immediately bounced in the net off the body of the second Aero who was driving hard to the net for a potential pass. The ref clearly signalled a goal and a long celebration began for the apparent Aeros win. Mississauga argued that the puck went in the net off the players foot/leg as the Aeros returned to the bench. This prompted a long conference between the ref and 2 linesmen, none of whom unfortunately were in the appropriate position to make a well-informed call either way, as all 3 officials were behind the play. After a prolonged debate, the goal was eventually waved off a couple of minutes later. According to one Bluewater fan, the puck actually bounced in off the players chest. A D1 coach I spoke with afterwards said the puck went in off her shinpad. Missy eventually won the event 2-1 in the shootout.
In the consolation final, Belle Tire prevailed over Ontario's Ridley College prep team in another close 2-1 affair.
Interestingly Aeros, Belle Tire, and Ridley all came from the "pool of death" pool C, with the Aeros playing both these teams in the round robin.
Many thanks to Glenn Boles was putting on a terrific event as always, and all the teams and college coaches who travelled to attend.Last edited by Trillium; 09-20-2009, 08:48 PM.

Re: 2009 Stoney Creek Junior Tourney
Well whoever said the TOEHL was going down hill in an earlier thread was dead wrong, as they should have watched some of the games this past weekend at Stoney.
The TOEHL teams looked great (LC, HB, Ohio, BT), and oh my did Ohio absolutely destroy Boston Shamrocks.
Very impressive hockey this weekend and a great showcase overall.
