Re: Michigan Tech Offseason III: Screw It, Somebody Look Up The Cheat Codes
On this board where opinions of unknowledgeable, uninformed posters are considered credible based on the number of postings by the particular poster - yes delusional.
Based on knowledgable, informed hockey posters- usually spot on.
Regarding Blake Pietila- have no fear for the wise one has spoken- he is on the U17 roster for this year as the uninformed will find out once the final roster comes out.
Regarding the bungling of recruiting -
believe Russell if you want that MTU should be recognized for the great job they did recruiting Zabotel and Hauswirth- the simple fact is neither has or ever will play a game for Tech.
It took five to six years to change his recruiting philosopy where he is on record of stating to the effect of "we are now going after skilled players instead of character players as our new recruiting philosophy"??? One year in the WCHA should have been enough to realize that the WCHA is not the same as the ECAC.
Dismissing Trent Daavettila, who was at least if not more skilled than Peter Rouleau (Do you remember him- he happened to be the Finlandia transfer who grew up playing alot of pond hockey, who most on here thought would be lucky to get a few shifts as 3rd or fourth liner but yet turned out to be Techs best player and most entertaining to watch), as not good enough to play in the WCHA as he attends MTU for four years- who's GM at a higher level has stated “Trent (Daavettila) possesses the type speed and agility that is made for the ECHL,” said Welsh. “Seeing Trent for only 20 games, he’s another player that we have only scratched the surface of when it comes to his potential.” Tech was saved from embarassment in the Hockey New article by not being mentioned as the educational institution he attended for four years as he played senior hockey.
Being a day late and a dollar short on Blake (and Chad) Pietila to the point of now trying to convince NMU to release older brother Chad to get more leverage.
Bungling??- Should I continue or is that enough for now?
