I hate that double call its either a trip or a dive cant be both

      Re: WCHA Playoff Thread

It can be both. The call is embellishment, not diving. When there is a trip which should rightly be called, you can also have the offended player embellishing his fall to make sure the referee sees that he got tripped. That is unsportsmanlike conduct and should also be penalized.

And pick plays like BG ran are illegal but no one has ever called it.

Let’s be fair. Officials at ALL levels are horrible about calling pick plays. Mike Babcock makes a living running pick plays.

Huskies got away with it on one of their power-play chances in Saturday’s game as well.

So Mankato will be in and a second if the Mavericks don't win the Sauer. Would it be possible for all three to get in if Lake State beats BG in the final?

I haven't looked closely at the rankings but I'm guessing other conference auto-bids would have to go teams that would be in anyway.

I haven't messed around with the Pairwise Predictor, but what (other than wins) does Bowling Green need to get into a comfortable spot, like #12 or so?

Trust me, Tech ran their share of pick plays. I saw several both nights. You seem to think your team is as clean as they come but they aren't. There was so much clutching and grabbing going on it's a wonder anyone could skate. I know you're butt hurt over the loss but get over it. Tech had a down year and there is really only one person to blame for that.

Putting all the blame for a down year on just one person? And who would that be?

You had enough talent this year to be better than you were. Thus, the blame falls on your coach. Just my .02.

I found one on collegehockeyranked.com Spent a couple minutes on it, but didn't fill in all the games. It was actually pretty easy to get BG to 12 (2 wins for them, 2 losses for Cornell, the first hypothetical I tried), but I didn't plug in all the other games. Of course, 12 isn't super safe, and I didn't roll through the games of March 22-23, but I don't think the at-large is that big of a long shot for them.

I disagree with almost all of this assertion. Tech never goes in to pick a fight, but if the other team does we respond aggressively. Blaming one person is ignorant.

One of your players attempted to pick a fight with Mitch McLain last year because your bench didn’t like something he said to them. That’s the same season your head coach put his hands on an opposing player and apologized for doing so after the fact. I’m not saying you’re a bunch of goons, but be realistic. Hockey is an aggressive sport and every team loses it at times.
