Agreed. There WCHA needs to focus of its noconf record and getting a team in the frozen 4. I know some want MSU to go to NCHC, Im not one. I like the conference personally.

What is conveniently neglected is that the NCHC schools kept the money losing hockey teams with the WCHA. Last I knew, and those more intimate with the WCHA can correct me, the WCHA-W is a financial loss for all programs, and was being covered by the old WCHA-M income. Once the NCHC schools pulled their M-Hockey teams out, that left the small schools to pick up the financial tab for both WCHA-M and WCHA-W.

No idea if that is true. If it is, that is BS, and the men's teams need to cut the women's league free, and let MN, WI and OSU fund the womens WCHA.

The WCHA currently operates in the black, and that includes both the men and women’s operations.

You make it sound like this is old news. We're not looking at the past. We're discussing why the next step is going to happen. You know, the formation of the new Planet Earth Collegiate Hockey Conference with members UND, DU, ASU and Space Force Academy (formerly Air Force, but Trump paid for the new rink and practice facility on the moon) so they can shed all those small, money draining teams like UMD, SCSU, WMU, Miami, etc that can't afford travel to the moon and who they've been propping up since the NCHC was formed.

It is. It's settled. Is there a chance for more re-alignment once ASU figures their arena situation out and actually has it mostly done? Sure. Until then, all of that is five years in the past, and it's not worth fighting the last war endlessly. You know, I used to get frustrated with folks that took potshots at Tech fans for being butt-hurt about this, but at this point, I'm beginning to find their accusations to ring true.

No, it doesn't mean as much to me as a UAH fan and alumnus. Actually, it means something completely different: I'm not sure that the CCHA would've taken in UAH, regardless of an impending startup Penn State program. The reformation of the WCHA kept my school's program alive, so ... I'm not going to be as disrupted as y'all are.

Schlossman is writing a history of the formation, I think its valid to discuss what he said...the negativity over the change needs to just go away but discussing why it happen because "new" information is out there is completely valid to me.

                          Thank you.

I think when I last looked up the WCHA tax returns (the two years prior to the Great Split), this was the case, but it has (thankfully) been corrected.

I'm not going to argue that some here definitely deserve the butthurt title but i don't see any issue with honestly discussing Schlossman's series.
