Question? Is Nicole Pateman still going to play for Maine in 2019-20 season? She played 4 games, was she red-shirted? or injured during the season.

I don’t know. She didn’t play much despite being highly rated. I do think Maine had a lot of upperclassmen in her way. Hopefully we get to see more of her play next season.

Here is another case of women recruits not getting much publicity...
      https://www.inforum.com/sports/hockey/1351016-Fargo-North-Souths-Arman-commits-to-Maine-hockey

Not much info on her. Rated 3/5 from nuetral zone. Described as tall winger with a nose for the net and has scoring touch.

      • I noticed this... it seems Kucera is still at Maine. Hopefully she can rejoin the team.

One has to worry a little about hearing "wake up call"... No one wants to send their daughter into a bad situation. "BS last year", "No leadership". Even if there was bad leadership from Captain, Assistant Captain (if that is what is being referred to) Doesn't ultimate leadership come from the Coaching Staff ? The girls are not kids but they still need a little help navigating it all and being the best they can be

Couldnt access link about "Fellowship"...is that more options for hockey experience in the off season

No, not about hockey in off season. It was money awarded to broaden her/his experience. Thought it would be odd if she was leaving. Looks like she isn't. and if she isn't leaving and also getting money for overseas travel... you would naturally deduce she is back on the team with a slap to the wrists at most. But, ya never know...

From link I sent in case you can't access it again...

It needs to be cleared up in that what happen last year won't happen no more...learning from mistakes, you can call it what you want...the STAFF has the last word and needs to send a message that they are YES the Leaders but also when on this Team...you act like a Team....it says Maine on the front of the hockey sweater....that's who you are and who you play for along with your team-mates...simply at times but will they..? Myself I think they learned a lot by it and will make amends to go forward.

When coaching staffs promote butt kissers as captains often times there is strife among the players. Not saying that this is the situation here but it's just amazing how many coaches make that mistake. Word of advice, if a player follows you around like a little puppy dog and is willing to do anything you tell them to do THAT IS NOT A LEADER. Put the C on the player that works their Tail off every day and everyone sees it. If they work hard and don't say a word that's ok the C will give them that voice and other players will respect that. Brown nosers are not respected by the other players and coaches need to start realizing that.

I would say and that's just me...but I would say 90% of the time the Players/Coaches get it right...

Looks like they don’t leave New England. The boys barely do with a series in upstate ny.

Lets hope the FOCUS will be like 2 years ago and not what happen last season. They have the talent to win games...but they need to come out hard/hungry on the ice and the biggie is start beating teams in Hockey East in front of them...the usual top 4 teams to be in contention. They are not the best team in the Conference but they have shown before that playing with a TEAM first attitude they can be a force...maybe surprisingly to some but I see a team that can be a tough play each and every time they hit the ice. LEADERSHIP on and off the ice will be a factor/imo. I for one look forward to this season..!

The Trimper twins are also coming in this fall. The originally played for Old Town boys team, and spent then two seasons at Taft prep school. Also, another Old Town player joined them... Olivia King. I am not sure if Maine recruited her. I would assume they have been.

Also set to come in is Ella Maclean... a defensemen from Nova Scotia. She has played on some big stages... here is a nice article. Again, I would hope and assume Maine is recruiting her younger sister who was second in scoring for Shattuck St. Mary prep. That would make a couple of sister combos for Maine. Probably good for locker room chemistry. Seems like they enjoy playing on the same team. https://www.thecasket.ca/sports/antigonish-county-sisters-to-skate-in-canada-winter-games-270804/
