Drama indeed. I’m not sure home ice is such an advantage. This last winning streak was all on the road. Niagara beating us at the cozy comforts of home last year had to be one of the biggest disappointments RIT faithful fans have recently endured.

This team might have a better shot at making it to the BCA if they played on the road rather than being at home in the playoffs (as long as they don’t get the stomach flu ala Holy Cross a few years ago). Playing on the road and living out of a hotel might keep them more focused at the task at hand.

With the parity we’ve seen in the league this year, as Tom mentioned, I also wouldn’t be surprised to see this team exit in the first round or win it all (hopefully the latter).

Just watching the Canada - Russia women’s Olympic game this morning. At the last break before the end of the game with about 1:27 to go, what comes over the PA system? Eye of the Tiger. I cranked up the TV volume a bit.

Hopefully they hold on to him for the rest of his contract, that way he’ll really want to leave when FA hits. Coincides nicely with the sunset of Chara’s career...please, Lord!

I would not mind seeing him get on an East Coast team.

Play with his brother at Winnipeg? Not quite East Coast but a step in the East direction.

The problem with this situation is that in post-season hockey, it usually comes down to a team that rides a hot goaltender that steals a game or two all the way to a championship. I can't foresee any of these three going on that kind of a run. None of them have stolen a game for the Tigers just yet. As you state, when the team struggles, so do they. They need someone who can rise above and carry the team on his back occasionally.
Can't we all just get along?
Always remember... This is just a game we're talking about here. Let's not take it all too seriously.

Tonight's RIT rooting interest: AIC over Holy Cross.

Me thinks RIT needs a split to get a 1st round bye.

At this stage of the season, I usually get massive headaches thinking about all these scenarios. For AHC this year, I get migraines.

(The new NEWHL was so easy. Every position was already decided before the last weekend of the regular season. That is now my favorite conference!)

Not quite. Army can pass RIT if they sweep Sacred Heart. The Robert Morris/Air Force series will also be a factor. Air Force holds the tiebreaker over RIT, but RIT holds the tiebreaker over Robert Morris.

The other thing to be interesting is how to avoid Air Force in the first round - especially on the road.

With AIC's loss, RIT can do no worse than 8th. This means that RIT will likely host playoff games.

Looking at just tonight's games, RIT will clinch a 1st round bye with a win, a RoMo loss/tie, and an Army loss/tie.

They will also clinch a first round bye with a tie, RoMo loss, and Army loss.
