Johnny McDermott is heading down 95 to Providence.
McDermott, playing for Tri City in the USHL, has 3 assists in 7 games. BU has four NTDP U18 forwards (Farabee, Wise, Weiss, DeBoer) coming next year and also could bring in Matt Quercia (Sioux Falls) if another big body is needed. McDermott tweeted:
Thanks @TerrierHockey for an unforgettable experience. Excited to continue my college hockey career at Providence College. #friars

Unfortunate could have been a 4 year role player...to many all stars next year...always admired BU had local talent...those days past too. Going to be difficult to coach 18 all stars

1. Johnny McDermott is not local.
2. Any successful teams will take the best talent they can get wherever they come from. The days of BU/BC having a ton of MA players are over. Just the reality of modern NCAA Hockey.
3. Multiple 3/4 year players in both of the last two classes. Quinn is learning and seems to be tweaking the recruiting to include more of these players.

I stand corrected...although Minn, Wisc, Denver...mostly regional with some Canadians...thought BU mostly National Development players from all over USA...good luck plenty of talent. Still like those old BU teams with regional talent from NE
Re: Boston University - 2017-2018 season - thread numero uno
Perhaps they'll tune in to the PC game and learn all they'll need to know in order to deal with the PCC (Pampered Children on the Commonwealth) on Saturday night.

Did you bother to look at those rosters? DU has four players from Colorado, UW has six players from Wisconsin.
