It was a defenseman that provided the eventual game-winning tally, as Cory Babichuk (RPI) found the back of the net on a zone rush near the halfway point of the final period. After collecting a breakout feed from Matt Gosiewski, Babichuk raced into the offensive zone on the right wing. He then ripped a shot from the top of the right circle on the ensuing 2-on-1 rush, beating Tri-City goaltender Jake Barczewski to make it a 4-3 lead.

Today is the day that USHL teams have to submit their 23-man rosters. I predict that all three (Babichuk, Ferner, and Tuliara) will make their teams.

Ferner was a regular (albeit not first pair) on the regular season champions last year. I'd be very surprised if he didn't make the team this season.

Teams have submitted their 23-man rosters & affiliate lists. We will unveil the full list Friday after transactions are processed this week.
