A .917 sv pct in a weak conference nets you a pro contract? Yeesh.

Obviously the biggest difference is that Oettinger is 3 years younger.

Don't be surprised if some patrick Roy type doesn't draft Jake and push him to go play in MJ and follow Carey Price's footsteps by being able to play 60 games and get ready for NHL hockey sooner rather than later.
a legend and an out of work bum look a lot alike, daddy.

So a Minnesota sports writer tweets that Greenway will sign with the Wild this summer.

He added the word "whether" (to turn pro) in his full article yesterday. I think the ambiguity in the tweet was a 140 character twitter issue.

My guess is it was just a preemptive strike to try and convince guys to come back. Frankly, if JFK is leaving, i would be stunned if greenway returns. And did someone say Calgary wasn't happy with hickey? I'd think they would want to sign him.

In fairness, he didn't definitively say they were all coming back. He said the NHL team would have to paint a real good picture for the player. JFK negotiating his way onto the NHL roster this year and burning a year of his ELC is precisely that picture. Good for him and hopefully he make their playoff roster and gets a shot to make a playoff run right away.

But that said, it was a bit premature to make a comment that sounded pretty confident.

True, but IMO it is still something he shouldn't have said until he was more sure of these players' futures. No one put a gun to his head just several days after the season ended while many things are in flux. If JFK and Greenway both leave, it makes the statement look a bit foolish. Maybe it was a bit of bad interpretation by the DFP, but they wrote that he expected them all back.

Wait what? He's expected to play for the bruins this year?

Yup, burning a year off of the ELC probably put them over the top. Surprised it is him, not MacAvoy, that got that offer though.

The Bruins believe that Krecji is on the back nine, and Bergeron is headed that way.

Not really sure what role he would fill on the Bruins right now. Krejci was on the back nine but has had a resurgence recently. Bergeron isn't though. He is still a very good player.

No bad interpretation from DFP, they posted Quinn's entire quotes verbatim and they were pretty clear. I agree he should've taken a bit more of a non-committal stance in how he talked about the chances of everyone returning.
