Wisconsin...and after that a roll of the dice and wishful thinking.
At the outset, we could hang with the dude...

      Wisconsin because obviously.
Clarkson because they look to be the best of the East.
MN because they largely outplayed UMD last weekend and will have another week with Cameranesi to get the offense clicking.
BC because I'm throwing TTT a bone for all of the pairwise related postings over the past few weeks.

UW, Clarkson, UM (UMD is not deep enough though they have an advantage in goal), St. L (BC has been eeking out the playoff wins against inferior teams, their luck will run out against a very good opponent in St. L. WI/St. L final, with you know who winning it all.

This is funny considering the fact that St. Lawrence has *not* been eeking out playoff wins against inferior teams.

WI and St. Lawrence can't meet in the final, they're on the same side of the bracket.

The more things change, the more they stay the same, or as Yogi might have said, "Deja Vu All Over Again."

The lock: Wisconsin bet the farm baby
Most Probable: Minny (Rooney can't possibly do in the Gophers again)
                      Tossup/Pickem: 3 games to date Clarkson 5-4 OT @ Lynah and 1-0 ECAC Champ @ Cheel/Cornell 2-1 @Cheel
Most likely upset: SLU, Clobbered Northeastern 5-0 and won a thriller 6-5 in Boston early in the year. Webster/Marchment/Miller line had 7 of the 11 goals in that series. BC better be ready to score at least 5 to win this one.

Sure she and they (the rest of the team) can if they play a game that is closer to what they have shown most of this season that they can play...which they have not been doing lately, yet they are still in the mix.

And, at the same time, if UM suffers a bit of what UMD has been experiencing recently, considering that Frost and Stecklein both think UM played very well on Saturday, then a UMD victory is certainly possible...more accurately put, a UM victory would be unlikely.

The reverse question would be can UM contain a well playing UMD especially if UM doesn't play their best and they start experiencing problems that they were having a few short weeks ago?

At a minimum I think we can agree that other than UW vs. RMU, no one would be shocked if any of the rest of the top 4 lost their quarterfinal.

I think this is the parity-filled tournament we all hoped we'd see as the more-chaotic-than-usual season wore on.

                            Agreed 100%, but...

Not so much. Wisconsin is the overwhelming favorite to win it, which does not exactly meet the definition of the most "parity-filled tournament we all hoped we'd see". That said, I'm totally aligned with your wishful thinking, if not for the same ultimate outcome.
