Middle initial N?

That might be asking too much!
So much for recruiting 6 footers as York is only 5'9 and I seriously doubt he's any relation to Allen York?

... to A. York who was well over 6'.

Really doubt it since he is from Texas.

I guess that it is obvious.

From the directory (new since yesterday)

Jaren Burke

Business and Management

Burke, Harris, Stout, and Payne are now in the directory, as is Bendorf who is not coming until 2018. (Also Conger still)

With all the incoming changes for this coming year, it should be like the proverbial box of chocolates. Anyone who thinks they can accurately predict what we can expect has to be deceiving themselves. So many variables on the ice and behind the bench. Should certainly be interesting and perhaps exciting. Really looking forward to this season.

At least with this being a "first year", it's somewhat of a "nothing more to lose" situation, so I'm looking forward to everyone on the team grabbing the bull by the horns and going for it. Numbers look good, but we all know there's more to the game than that.

If anything expectations will probably be low, as the preseason ratings closely mirror end of last season unless there's something drastic.

I agree that the preseason rankings will probably reflect primarily last season, but as I wrote on the other thread, we are decidedly lacking in experienced forwards. There is talent returning, but ...

Definitely more unknowns than knowns, at least for those of us not privileged to the locker room. But maybe the lack of experience at forward isn't a bad thing. How often do we see "bad habits" continue along, even during a coaching change? I seem to recall some things I didn't like too much from the Fridgen era that carried over to Appert; maybe it won't be as bad from Appert to Smith with said lack.

Burke's close to a point per game, and York wasn't too far off either, so that's at least positive news. You usually don't get numbers like that without some sort of offensive talent, so I have to think we'll be just fine. And if Cameron sticks around with his commit, all the better.

We have probably lost Austin Cho in addition to the known Bailey Conger. His twitter page https://twitter.com/auzzycho?lang=en no longer states "RPI Commit" below his name. If one googles "Austin Cho twitter" the "RPI commit" is still there and in the currently cached version https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:JB1jEnm6UG4J:https://twitter.com/auzzycho%3Flang%3Den+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us.

Wouldn't he have had to come in this year? I don't know exactly where the cutoff is, mind you, and I'm not going back to the rule book for that...

Considering we are very overloaded on D, it wouldn't have surprised me.

Remember that they are both 1996s playing against a lot of younger players. Considering when we got them, they are quite good, but from a long term view, I would rather have gotten Conger.

Cho could have delayed another year until 2018, but he had already delayed once, so I doubt that he would want to.

Didn't we say the same thing about the one goalie who used us as a bargaining chip with Major Junior? And how'd he turn out?

I know it's the last thing we'd want to hear after 11 years, but I'd rather focus on the hand we have, and once the card is played, let the chips fall as they may.

That's fine. Let's move that discussion to the other thread.
